It depends on what you buy. A vegan diet can be cheaper, more expensive, or just the same. Beans, grains, and vegetables are among some of the cheapest foods everywhere. You can be one of those fancy rich vegans who go to Whole Foods for everything, but I only buy substitutes as a treat.
Here is a short article that shows how a vegan diet can be cheaper. The healthier it is, the cheaper.

Awesome! Struggle with food? If you mean you like the taste of meat, there are so many substitutes! They aren't the healthiest but every once in awhileThat is truly amazing how you can be that disciplined. I wish I could go vegan and reek the benefits but I struggle with food. I hope you keep going strong
Honestly I struggle with gluttony, Lucky I am not obese yet but I really want to stop worshiping food.Awesome! Struggle with food? If you mean you like the taste of meat, there are so many substitutes! They aren't the healthiest but every once in awhile![]()

You can continue to worship food. We don't just eat grass like some believe. For lunch I had, wonderful chili with "meat". I'm not deprived yet it's healthy. I helped make it with TVP which stands for texturized vegetable protein. So yummy, tastes like meat!Honestly I struggle with gluttony, Lucky I am not obese yet but I really want to stop worshiping food.
Mine hardly does, look at the facts. You eat the factory farmed animals that are caked in manure so don't talk to me like I eat it. I eat CLEAN veggies while you eat garbage. Who really wins in a health arguement....
1. Veganism protects the soil. "Researchers have found that raising animals for consumption contributes to erosion and nutritional depletion of soil, plus desertification and deforestation."
2. It conserves water. "More than 70 percent of the earth’s fresh water is used in agriculture of plants and animals: it takes 100 to 200 times more water to produce a pound of beef than it does to grow a pound of plant foods."
3. It saves energy. "Meanwhile, citizens are urged to conserve energy, and one of the best ways of doing so is by skipping out on meat and dairy. Case and point: a Cornell study found that producing animal-based protein requires eight times more fossil-fuel energy than creating plant-based protein."
4. It clears the air. "That’s why a report by the UN concluded that animal agriculture is a larger contributor to greenhouse gas than all forms of transportation. And speaking of the previously mentioned issue of deforestation, when rainforests are cleared to create livestock pastures, carbon is released into the air."

Yeah, you still think vegans don't do anything for the environment?
Then you have some research to look forward to,I do not follow the lifestyle of the Jains, so I do not need to comment on it.
You mean why did I engage in a discussion? If thisWhy are you here? I already stated the facts, you should read them, and then make up your mind. There was no need to quote me multiple times.
That doesn’t surprise me.I agree with Brooke Lowe.
No, that’s right, you didn’t. I said that.I never said that I am preaching veganism,
It comes off as preaching.I am stating FACTS.
If one is as compassionate about their eating as theyAs for my morals, if you were compassionate, you would understand.
I have to eat plants to survive, you don't need meat to survive. End of discussion.Hardly is still some, so I finally got you to admit that veganism still kills some animals. When it comes down to your life against theirs, they lose. So deep down, you truly believe that your life is more important than theirs, or else you wouldn't continue to eat a vegan diet. If you don't care about being consistent, then there isn't anything I can say to change your mind, but at least I can open your eyes to this hypocrisy.
Then you have some research to look forward to,
especially if you are interested in some seriously
compassionate ways of eating. Long story short, the
Jains make even vegans look like omnivores. Truly
humbling stuff.
You mean why did I engage in a discussion? If this
thread was not open for discussion, then that
stipulation should have been articulated from the
beginning. My answer to your question is the same
as yours was: “What am I supposed to do, just read
it and silently disagree? No, because I am entitled to
respond.”
That doesn’t surprise me.
No, that’s right, you didn’t. I said that.
It comes off as preaching.
The controversy surrounding PETA also doesn’t help your case.
Some things about them which fall squarely into the “Physician,
Heal Thyself” category:
- EDITORIAL: PETA kills animals, slams Sarah Palin for dog photos - Washington Times
- PETA’s Virginia shelter killed 88% of rescued pets last year, up 30%: report - Washington Times
- PETA Won’t Answer Some Very Basic Questions About Why It Kills So Many Shelter Animals
- Shocking Photos: PETA’s Secret Slaughter of Kittens, Puppies | Nathan J. Winograd
- PETA’s Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad History of Killing Animals - The Atlantic
If one is as compassionate about their eating as they
claim to be, they would look into Jainism’s even more
compassionate dietary regimen before dismissing it
out of hand.

Indeed that's what they claim, but in practice their actions show that they believe something else.

PETA states facts even if they are "hypocrites". Look at the information in front of you. If you don't like PETA there are a million more organization that states facts. Get educated, then get back to me.
It's not a claim, it's a fact. Fine you have your beliefs, I'll leave with my facts. Bye!
The main point is you intentionally kill animals. I don't. Get over yourself. You kill WAY MORE than me. Face the facts. You don't NEED meat, I NEED plants. So don't even try. Did you even watch the video? We both kill animals to survive.
The fact is that plowing and harvesting a field kills animals and damages the environment. They can say that they believe in protecting animals and the environment all they like, but their actions run counter to what they say they believe.
