CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's funny...I've always been fond of Valentine's Day, even though I've never had a date for it.
Anyway, this year, there's going to be a swing dance with a live band on Valentine's Day, and I will probably go to that.

ugh...I personally am not at all a fan of Valentine's Day. Luckily, this year a) it's on a Saturday and b) I'll be just arriving in Amsterdam for a 10 day long mission trip with 10 other people from my school. I think with all the excitement from that maybe I'll be able to forget that it's Valentine's Day. And as much as I'd like to say that it can be a day just to focus on people you love (romantically or not), I still won't be able to forget that I haven't got that special someone to share the day with. Kudos to all of you who are able to look at the bright side of all this.

I think Valentine's (secular version) was devised a a group of women who's men did not treat them good. The florist jack up the prices on roses knowing that we guys will pay through the nose to get them.

We'll I'm going to celebrate Valentines Day with about 14 first graders on Feb. 11th. I'm hoping I'll get a card. But, as for the 14th I'd say nothing out of the ordinary.

now, I can understand if something horrible happens to you on a given day, you would consider it a bad day. But being single in itself is NOT a horrible thing and shouldn't ruin ANY day for you. Rejoice in the Lord *always*.

I am going to spend it with my two favorite men-Ben and Jerry!
I usually treat myself to a pint of my favorite Ben and Jerry's ice cream-Phish Food! I try not to get so bummed out on Valentines Day. I know it is the day of love, so why not show love to those people that are important to you in your life like your parents, siblings, friends, or people who you just think a lot of? Or maybe go to a nursing home and adopt someone lonely to show love too?
