I guess I don't think much about it on Valentines, but on days when I do need extra TLC, I might pamper myself with a nice hot bath with Epson salts and essential oils, scented candles, play my favorite music and make my favorite food. Sometimes watch a good movie or look for inspirational quotes and articles.

After my family obligations, my current plan is to binge-watch something by myself, and regret all my life choices

I just treat it like any other day. Not having the stress of needing to do anything on Valentine's Day is enough for me.

as someone who is gay "and" a Christian, it actually makes Valentines Day easier, because I don't dwell on not having the other half as I am not allowed, one way or another.

I heard that the price of chocolate is going up. To me the best part of Valentine's day is the half price sales on chocolate on the 15th.

I pretty much just feel good about the fact I don't have a reason to celebrate Valentines. I can eat chocolate on any given day, but that good Valentine's Day-free feeling only rolls around once a year.

As for myself, in years like this one where I have no one, I just fondly reflect on better times when I was able to celebrate V-day with someone special to me. i.e. Someone who graciously accepted the declaration or token of my romantic feelings towards her, but did not reciprocate.

But they were some of the best days of my life.


... but then maybe this year I can try doing some actual tlc and go get a day at the spa or something.

Normally Valentine's Day does not bother me... but having a falling out with a woman (we never dated) that I've been talking to for a few months happen around this holiday... I guess I might actually feel somewhat bummed out.

Just the way it goes, millions of others are single too.
