In years past I would have taken my Mom out to dinner, but instead Dad and I made a madcap dash into the metrop. for some small gifts for sister, niece, and nephew. It was a nice little outing but felt so incomplete without Mom with us.

I’ve been doing so good lately about not worrying about dating, even Valentine’s Day was just another day, but today hurts. I am sad.

I spent mine on work-related projects, cooked dinner, and then did a little drawing. One of my more neglected hobbies. Valentine's Day is a neat holiday. Something I can appreciate even if I'm not actively dating.

If I was dating, I'd get her flowers and maybe give her an extra hug or two. Nothing overboard. My kind of girl is pretty chill and down to earth, so Valentine's Days are low key and enjoyable either way.

I hear all the time you should just live life, but if you’re not making it a focus, how will it ever happen? Like, I’ve been doing good for a couple months, it really wasn’t on my mind, so I wasn’t trying maybe as hard as I should. So if you just live life, you don’t put in the effort you should, & you’re just wasting time. I just wasted a couple months.

The closest feeling I can think of it compares to is when you're at a party & the person you want to be there isn't there, b/c they're late or just not coming that day. It's like that feeling. Are they coming or not?It's a bit off. I feel so empty.

I've stopped looking for a long time. We live in an evil world where happiness in worldly things is always at the expense of the weak. It's all the in the Bible. The sooner you realize this and if you really are of the lost sheep, the better off you'll be.

I'm really sorry you're feeling this way. I know how that can be.. hopefully it will pass quickly, but I know that doesn't make it feel any better in the moment. Try to remember that even when you feel alone and empty you are full because the Holy Spirit dwells in you. It might not take away the desire for companionship (at least it never has for me), but it's helpful to refocus on that and train yourself to have the perspective that it is well regardless.

I think you misunderstood what I'm trying to say in my post.

I'm not saying the weak will always be weak because our Lord makes strong the weak. We agree there!

I'm just saying happiness in this world is at the expense of the weak... It doesn't mean you'll stay weak forever. In fact, there is no correlation between the two. Your strength or weakness is entirely up to the Lord, not to the world.

The sinful + strong prosper, but only b/c God makes it rain & the sun shine on the righteous & the unrighteous. It's an uphill battle for us, & unfortunately there are some losers, but not impossible.

True! Not impossible but remember, not everyone will receive what is promised in this life (Hebrews 11).... Not because we're bad Christians, but simply because God meant it. Many champions of God did not received what is promised in this life.

I just have to say this because there's so many false teachers out there deluding everyone that you can manipulate God to bless you just by being "in-line" with "proper" Christian behavior. And what they meant by "proper" is unbiblical and that is to conform to this world rather than to the image of the Lord. They preach this with such wit, using Biblical verses in the wrong context to make you pawns of the devil. They're so popular these days and have infected most churches already so be careful out there!
