  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is racism going to come back in America?

Hello everyone,

I don't know if this is the right place to post this,

But the reason I am asking this question is that I have started seeing the far right gaining more and more power in America ("Christian" Nationalists, Ultra-MAGA, alt-right, etc) where we have people like Nicholas Fuentes openly blaming everything on Jewish people, black people, immigrants, etc. and people are starting to take statistics the wrong way (such as the 13/50 statistic, "Jews running the world," etc.) and the scary part is that they are starting to become more prevalent and are no longer fringe in our society.

I know this usually comes from a reaction to the "wokeism" movement a few years ago, where everyone was pandering to BLM, LGBT, etc. and everyone was blaming white people for everything, but now it seems that the trend is not just stopping, but reversing, where now white nationalism is cool and blacks are seen as "pariahs" in these spaces, and Jews are seen as evil. I know they are small right now, but honestly, is segregation going to come back in America? I just want to hear your thoughts and your commentary on this issue.

On a personal note:
I am also writing this as I am a black/white biracial, and I worry that I may soon bear the effects of possible reinstated racism within the next ten years.

Nick Fuentes and his followers have a very, very, very tiny amount of influence amongst the MAGA movement and Constitutional Conservatives. White nationalism and racism of ALL types are NOT cool.

Well, you have ICE agents profiling and even detaining and arresting brown-skinned people, regardless of whether they are citizens or green card holders, and the Supreme Court allowing the profiling.

So what do you think?

They should not pretend at all. Are all illegal aliens from central and South America? Are all illegal aliens brown?

Most of the huge influx were allowed to pour in through the southern boarder from Mexico, Venezuela, Guatemala, Honduras, Columbia, Ecuador, El Salvador. I suppose they must all be brown since the claim is "brown people" are being targeted.

Many different people from many countries of many colors poured through the southern border during Biden’s presidency. Were they all brown? If not, then why concentrate on the brown people as ICE is indeed doing?

Let's not pretend that the majority of the natives from Mexico, Venezuela, Guatemala, Honduras, Columbia, Ecuador, El Salvador don't mostly happen to have brown skin.

Well, that's good to hear right now. But as Christians, we should still pray against wolves in sheep's clothing, such as Nicholas Fuentes and other self-proclaimed "Christian" nationalists. While they may be small right now, the so called "Groypers" are still active on social media, and they are rapidly growing, so prayer against any evil attack is important.

And yes, obviously racism is evil and has no place in our society and the church, and will definitely have no place in heaven.

There are the natives that are descendants of the native tribes and are darker skin and then there are the “peninsulares” which are descendants of the spaniards mixed with natives that are lighter skin. Then there are the descendants of African slaves which are black.

The legal Hispanic population in the US is approaching 20% and they are a mix of colors from very dark to white.

So yes, let’s not pretend.

Most of them happen to have brown skin and are obviously Hispanic. That's why when someone who's Hispanic looks like this, it comes as a surprise. (That's comedian Louis C.K.).

Really the case is illegal aliens from Mexico, Venezuela, Guatemala, Honduras, Columbia, Ecuador, El Salvador are being targeted, and most of them just happen to be "brown people".

Racial profiling by agencies such as ICE, police officers, or TSA is unacceptable. Communities have experienced racial profiling by law enforcement for generations, and it remains unjust today as it was in the past. However, I would like to understand your view how this issue relates to Christian nationalism and certain right-wing political movements.
