  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

i hated this film. the action sequences were just okay. the plot was dumb. after V said that monologue with the words starting with V's, it all went down hill.
the part with natalie portman coming out to the rain, that was just too dramatic. one of the worse films i've seen this year.

I LOVED the film. V was one of the coolest characters because not only could he kill a room full of soliders before they could reload their guns, and do it in such a ballet-esque fasion, but he has a dry cool wit and uber intelligence "like only celluloid can deliver". xD Throw in a touch of mild insanity and you have yourself one bad mother - shut your mouth! I'm just talking about V. ^.^

I liked it.

I don't know if I'd agree with the idea of violent revolution, but I loved that a lot of conservative ideas were presented.

I think it's funny that liberals are claiming the movie for themelves as supposedly sticking it to George W. Bush (I don't see what it has to do with President Bush, but then, when has anything liberals do made sense?), but it's really one of the most conservative movies in a long time.

Hmm, well being that this film is based on a graphic novel written to satire the Thatcher administration, I'm curious as to how you think it's a conservative film.

yes but thats beacuse the world trade center isnt a very deep film. just like flight 92.
I think it's Flight 93. I'm not sure. But I didn't think V for Vendetta was deep. I've seen single shots deeper than this film.

I thought it was great. The comic book is better. Now I know why Alan Moore, the writer, does not want anything to do with the movie.
The part at the beginning about America in a Civil War because of our Godlessness. Not far off in the future.

The movie held my interest I liked it, my wife did not. It’s an action movie. It’s a political movie. It’s Orwellian. A total police state and you wonder how for off we are from that reality. The best line in the movie was something like, people should not be afraid of government that government should be afraid of the people.

I thought V for Vendetta was a good movie. And a good point on why theocracies and any type of fascist society shouldnt exist.

In response to the "godlessness" part...didnt you realize that the speaker of that speech was only using that as a way to push the theocracy ideas to control people? That doesnt mean that in the film America actually failed because of "godlessness". If anything...we should look at the film and make sure that America doesnt end up like that version England.
