  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hmm, well being that this film is based on a graphic novel written to satire the Thatcher administration, I'm curious as to how you think it's a conservative film.

The idea that a centralized government with little or no accountability can easily become corrupt and that citizens are responsible for holding it accountable is a central conservative belief.

I think it's funny that liberals are claiming the movie for themelves as supposedly sticking it to George W. Bush (I don't see what it has to do with President Bush, but then, when has anything liberals do made sense?), but it's really one of the most conservative movies in a long time.

In order to be able to see what it has to do with President Bush, take a look at one or both of the following online movies so you can "connect the dots":

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1016720641536424083&q=press+for+truth

Something else that will help you connect the dots: The source of the anthrax in the post-9/11 anthrax attacks was traced to the Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases at Fort Detrick. Top Bush Administration officials started taking the anti-anthrax antibiotic Cipro on 9/11, one week before the first anthrax attack took place.

Paranoid conspiracy theories?

No thanks.

Of course they did. We didn't know what the next attack would be.

I watched the replay of the news from 9/11 the other day and it was really interesting to watch it again knowing everything that we know now.

They were reporting all sorts of things like car bombs going off on the Mall in Washington, the Sears Tower being bombed, an assasination attempt on Vice President Cheney, and other things like that.

Of course none of these things were true, but information was coming in so fast that it was hard to seperate rumors from fact.

I still remember running out my back door everytime an airplane flew over head because I thought something was going on.

It's easy to sit back five years later and criticize, but at the time, it was chaotic and we were all hiding under our beds because we thought another attack was around the corner.

At that time, we believed that biological weapons and chemical weapons were a real threat (and they still are). They did the right thing preparing in case of an attack.

Would it be paranoid to think that the people responsible for the anthrax attack are waiting to accumulate enough anthrax to kill the entire population of a major US city before striking again?

I just saw this movie (finally) tonight, and I enjoyed it - not the best movie ever, but it was good. I thought Hugo Weaving did a superb job of showing emotion whilst acting behind a mask.

never watched braveheart?
I've seen it several times.
In particular I like the battle of Sterling Bridge, minus the bridge.
Still, if they had shown that battle as it actually happened it might have been hard for the viewer to feel for the Scotts.

how so? ive not actualy watched all of braveheart.

what happend was

bruce and morry were standing up on the abby craig so they could run away. then cressing ham who slept in desided not to cross at the ford several miles up river but put all his soldires over a tiny wooden bridge. So half the english army is over the bridge and their knights cant charge beacuse there on marshland. The scots come down and kill them all and then the bridge collapses and cressing ham dies.

How did it go in the film?
