  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Do you think the Devil would ever repent?

I have thought about this a little bit, but it seems like Satan himself wouldn't ever repent of all the evil deeds he has done over the last few thousand years?

I mean, he wants to be God and take His Throne away from Him, so I am guessing there is some arrogance in him that is preventing him from repenting and coming back to His Creator. Also, I think he is full of hate for other people, being that he is a demonic spirit, so it make sense to me that he wouldn't feel love for anyone other than himself maybe.

The Bible calls him "the man of sin" and the "son of perdition." He is also called "The Prince of Darkness." It describes him as being 100% evil as opposed to Christ, who is 100% good. So good and evil clash all the time and that is where the wars come from.

I have often wondered if Satan has any capacity to repent, or if he is just lost forever to the darkness? =/ Well, I know he is the darkness itself...which is sad in my opinion...it makes me sad knowing the kind of monster he has become...

Scripture is clear that satan will never repent and is destined to spend eternity in the fiery pit. That day we can say good riddance but until then we rebuke him in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

BTW- I won’t let autocorrect capitalize the “s” in satan because he does not deserve our respect in any way.

Satan is not the man of sin, that is satan's man (who is a human) who will rule the earth during the tribulation. He is also known as the king of the north and the beast from the sea.

I recommend this little book

No doubt God gave lucifer and his followers the opportunity to repent before casting them out of heaven. When He cast them out their final fate was sealed.

No; he has already been judged and condemned, pending the carrying out of his sentencing.

I mean we and angels are different
Maybe they don't change their minds like we do

Angels have seen the full truth of God and when you reject it wouldn't it create the ultimate and perfect evil?
That's what I said in post #8

Even if he did "repent" (which he will never do, IMHO), I still don't believe that he could be saved, because neither he nor his demons have a Savior to redeem them, do they?

Hello Wrotta, are we able to change our minds in regard to God/salvation (cf Romans 3:10-12), or is that something that happens because God changes and quickens us (Ezekiel 36:26-27; John 3:3; Ephesians 2:1-5)?

God bless you!!

Ezekiel 36
26 “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.”

Many people are just duped by false teachings into just a different form of worldliness. Never truly repenting. Their heart only seeking a different drug, a different addiction. People seek after the desires of their heart.

So what hope remains for the devil? He will never repent.

Isn't the context of this that the Israelites kept on turning to baal worship so God decided to do that now
