I am of the opinion that American may be the "new" Babylon. I base this on the scripture, which I don't have right in front of me, that refers to sailors and merchants of the world crying out, once Babylon is destroyed, because Babylon was their primary purchaser of goods and services (I'm using current jargan). Is their another economy that so many other countries depend on; other than the USA? And while I don't like to think about, I do think that every kind of sin can be found here. We have those who would stretch the right of speech so thin that it becomes transparent to thank for that.

I believe that America is Babylon, and have for over 30 years. Also, those who think that Jerusalem is Babylon do not seem to take into account that Modern Day Babylon in Rev 18 has a thriving trade going on with the commodities listed. Jerusalem doesn't deal in or trade with anyone with these items listed. Also, who in the world would be weeping over Jerusalems demise, except maybe the Christians? I just can't see the ship captains weeping over her, or anyone else for that matter. The USA...YES. We have made other nations rich!!!
As far as coming out of her, this is not a "fleshly" leaving. It says to not take part in her sins. In other words, this is a Spiritual coming out, not literal. I personally believe that "Come out of her my people" is at the same time as the second coming, or rapture as some like to call it. The reason that I believe this is, the very next chapter in Rev 19 mentions the "much people in heaven" "a great multitude" and says "the marriage of the Lamb is come". We are there then.

Babylon is a city not a country for starters.

It is a city laid in gold and precious jewels.

It is a city adorned in red which represent the linens brought to this city on the sabbaths.

There is a beast adorned in red represent the king of this city arrayed in royalty.

It is a city which has the substance to sustain all those left on earth as the land of milk and honey.

It is a city in which the inhabinants have a "mark" which aligns themselves with this king all others are killed.

The city is located on a high hill, all the beasts and fowls seek shelter under it.

John is taken into the wilderness, a desolete place, which represent earth itself. We see in Isaiah 14 that it is by Lucifer that the world has become a wilderness and the cities destroyed. Your equating prophecy to what you see today which is not correct for the world will go under great distress prior to the exsistence of Babylon and the rise of its King. Matt. 24:6,7 has not taken place of yet.

Rev. 18:6 – This woman is rewarded double for her iniquity. This “double” punishment is seen to Jerusalem in Isaiah 4:2 and Jer. 16:18, 17:18.

Rev. 18:7 - She denies that she is a harlot and a widow, Jerusalem is described as a widow in Lam 1:1.

Rev. 18:22, 23 – We see that the LIGHT OF A CANDLE and the VOICE OF THE BRIDEGROOM and SOUNS OF MILLSTONES shall be heard no more out from this city. This event is seen occurring to Jerusalem in Jer. 7:34, 16:9, 25:10, 33:11.

Babylon is the harlot of the REAL New Jerusalem seen coming from Heaven two chapters later in chapter 21. History always seems to repeat......
There is much much more relating Babylon and Jerusalem with the understanding of the 7 heads, 10/12 horns, 4 beasts ect........These will be subjects of future posts.

No, I didn't misunderstand what Babylon represents, but a lot of people can't see their own nation right under their own noses. As far as Babylon being a city, and not a country, the New Jerusalem is listed as a "city" in Revelation 21:2. The measurements are almost as big as the USA 12,000 furlongs 1,500 miles square..length, breadth and height..Rev 21:16...if you get my point?
This nation is on it's way to being taken out economically right now, and then we are going to have the "taken out in one hour," Rev 18:19... as soon as we are reduced to a catastrophic ridden & broken nation...... bye bye world. People can ignore it, can't accept it, refuse to believe it, but that won't change what is going to happen regardless of who people THINK Babylon is.

Leave it to you to clarify . Anyhoo, the New J is still a big city for that footage....6,000 sq miles, and that doesn't include the 1500 heighth, so 7,500 miles of New J there. It's even bigger then the state of Rhode Island, which is 1, 214 sq miles. The bible does call Babylon that GREAT CITY which could be deemed a nation, and that is one reason that I believe it is called that great city. I'm not just looking at the word "city" here, but what the city trades in. No other nation "city" deals in all of these items...we do. I'm taking it all as a whole in that chapter. I believe that as time progresses, more people are going to have their eyes opened up REAL WIDE. Also, almost in every city in the US, we display the sign...ALL AMERICAN CITY. We are one big gigantic all American city.

God said that it was going to happen, so I believe that He allows it and has a part in it. I would have to say that all bets are off, lol. He destroyed Sodom & Gomorrah by raining down fire, and flooded the earth with water, so destroying Babylon is no big thing for Him. Also, it doesn't say if all of Babylon is destroyed. In this case, I believe that it is the hub of it's trade, through disasters affecting Babylons economy.

Well, even though I believe that America has turned into a cesspool of every sin imaginable, and is trying to get God removed from every conceivable place...it is one of Satans many seats. The gospel message is still being proclaimed so far in this nation. That is probably the only thing that is keeping us from being destroyed at this point, besides Gods mercy, and He is waiting for repentance from us.
2nd Chronicles 7:14 ~ If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

This verse has nothing to do with America. It is a promise to King Solomon, about the Jews. Please show where Americans are called by the name of Yahweh. God's name is Yahweh, not "God", "Lord" or "Christ".
