I'm german, but otherwise I agree. I don't think there's a correct term for what is happening in the USA because at no time in mankinds history had a pandemic response been bundled that badly, considering the level of medicine of the time.

In late March, that number starts growing very quickly, to the point where in early April, we had about 20k more deaths per week than the running average. That coincided with the spike in deaths attributed to COVID:

The fact is that if they did not have the virus they would not have gotten the disease that ended up killing them.
