Yeah, there is the wow factor, lol.
But after you've experienced it enough that it is such a shock, other emotions come forward.
Sorting those out can get complicated.

This will probably get moved, but all my friends are here, so...
I was just coming home from the northwest end of town to past the southwest end of town and further south. Going west on Maple, I turned right to enter the on ramp to 80 West. I noticed a woman pulled over a nd looking up, so I looked up as I rounded the ramp and merged onto the highway.
I saw a dark, oblong (almost cylindrical) object, rounded ends, about 4 white lights on one end, and one red light on the other. It sat stock still in the sky, but I didn't get a chance to make accurate comparisons for a scale perspective.
Besides, I had to get home and whoever they are, it angers me that they sneak around and don't share helpful technologies. So I just drove on and forgot about until 15 minutes later as I exit 80West to get on HWY50 south, I see it yet still as can be, but now I have enough distance on it to see that it is about as big as a football field and about 4000ft up.
I went on home anyway. I don't trust them. Why aren't they helping us.
It just angers me.

Let's assume they're really from an advance race with advance technology.

Great start, but you shot yourself down... think about it a little further, bro. Being advanced would plausibly imply they would be able to mediate conflict like a good parent does.

I am aware of the "Prime Directive" (non-interference with history), but these non-cloaked hover maneuvers either don't adhere to the directive, or history has reached a point where they are not considered an actionable violation.
That's my best guess, anyway.
I have the ability to disengage my emotional attachment to, and thus suspend, my beliefs long enough to follow the money so to speak, on the logic of whatever speculative presumptions. It's fun,... like anticipating chess moves or poker hands, only it has the buzz of science fiction horror flicks.

Gotta keep all this at arm's length, or it could drive ya nuts.

That's right. Crashes have been back-engineered and trading and treaties have happened.
Remember project Paperclip? That is the just the bottom tip of an inverted iceberg.
So a space program of human origin with off-planet technologies supplementing, is apparently a part of the overall picture, I'm thinking.

Not been on for a while & just saw this thread.

Anyone who knows about ufos will be well aware that no really good photos have been taken since the likes of Adamski & W54.

UFO's know when they are being seen & know when a camera is present, you will never get a decent sighting whilst holding any device that records images, which is why youtube has thousands of vids of "moving dots" & little else that isn't CGI.

The other curious thing is that most people who have seen one actually couldn't care less about proving it to other people, it's a private ontological rite of passage first & foremost.

Whoever made the UFO will use it to rule the world, thats why its hidden cause if any UFO is caught by any nation, the tech can be leak.
