Has anyone had any experience with Ubuntu Touch yet? I think it's slated for an official release on April 17.

I just switched to T-Mobile and picked up the iPhone 5S, it's reception has been somewhat unfavorable but I think that has more to do with T-Mobiles in-progress infrastructure on my end of town than anything else.

That being said, despite the fact that I love Apple, I'm being seduced by the Galaxy Note 3 - especially if Linux is still going to release Ubuntu Touch soon. I've just never been a fan of Android because of it's interface and it's horrible security.

If I could use my JUMP 2.0 program to grab the Note 3 and then replace Android Kit-Kat with Ubuntu that would be awesome. Thoughts, reviews and opinions welcome! Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner

I haven't used it but it does seem like the best up and coming linux-based mobile OS

Linux is an OS kernel, it doesn't make Ubuntu Touch. You're thinking about Canonical.

Is CyanogenMod any better?

Yeah I'm really interested to learn more about it, I'm hoping it's released this month like they're projecting.

Ah, yeah I really know next to nothing about Linux and related products.

Is CyanogenMod any better?

Seems interesting, I'm going to look into that more. Have you used it? If you have, what are your thoughts?

Ubuntu is a distribution of Linux which contains the GNU coreutils and the linux kernel (you'll sometimes see it called GNU/linux). There are thousands of distributions; Ubuntu is the most popular.

No, I wish. It's not available for my phone and neither is Ubuntu Touch

What is the Note 4? I don't think there is a Galaxy Note 4

There have been rumors and leaks regarding it's specs, it's probably going to come out this fall.

Supposedly it'll have an (I think) 8-core, 4gb of ram up to 128gb of storage and possibly a 2K screen. That's all conjecture at this point...

I have no idea then, you can find the compatibility lists online. Of course there's always risks when making a major change like that.
