Some professors are okay with it -- others aren't.

If I think my neighbor is doing something illegal, do I have the right to break into his house looking for evidence?

Illegal is still illegal... Catch-22, I'm afraid.

Sometimes that's all we have to go on for cases such as rape -- you know, an actual crime?

Well, there's a solution -- forget about who said what and go on your feelings...

Why would the whack a doodles need "rooting out"? Seems they'd be pretty easy to spot.

Legitimate professors have varying opinions on the subject -- Of course, I'm sure any professor who refuses will be under extra scrutiny...

You'd be surprised... Barnes and Noble had an entire series of "Portable Professor" CDs not too long ago... I've got a few of them on my phone now... helpful on long drives.

    I know.

And if, hypothetically speaking, I were to say that you've "chewed through your muzzle," (something I would never do, of course) I could honestly say that I never called you a dog (which, again, I would never do)

    Shouldn't there be a 1. before the 2.?

You use your words carefully -- carefully enough to allow for allusion and connotation to say the things that some people might not have the courage to say themselves (Not that I'm accusing you of such a thing; I would never say that)

Is your neighbor's house open to the general public?

Schools and colleges are public buildings. There is no
reasonable right to privacy in a classroom. The whole
point of education is the free flow of information.

Except when it becomes a den of indoctrination.

If you had seen the times I've been reported, you
would know that if anything, I don't hold my tongue
well enough sometimes. I tend to say what I mean.

Back to metastasize: Can you give me a better word
to describe the depth and damage done by the
changes done to the Democratic party in my lifetime?

Saying that they moved left is like saying Atlantis
    had a slight flooding problem.

You think a classroom is? Trying walking in uninvited and sitting down. Bring a camera.

Now that just sounds like socialism to me... Universities are for-profit institutions, educating those who pay the tuition.

You want free education? You should've voted for Bernie.

And you have again... I never said you couldn't learn from your mistakes.

Sounds like you're conceding that you do consider them like a cancer...

And you hate the left; we get that.

    Indoctrination with an extremist ideology

So I hope he approaches the issue in a reasonable way, so that it won't turn into witch hunts.

    Was my guess wrong?

Who gets the privilege of defining "extremist," and determining when it's a good or bad thing?

    "My country, right or wrong!"
    "Love it or leave it!"
"Give me liberty or give me death!"

    Extremism?

As do I -- hope, but not expect. He can only benefit from witch hunts.

    Was my guess wrong?[/QUOTE]

    Quite. Try googling this time.

My personal definition would be that an extremist ideology is one that encourages conflict between people. But you're right, it's unnecessary to add "extremist", since a college class is not the right place for any ideological indoctrination, no matter if it's extremist or not.

I googled it, and it's about accusations towards Hillary Clinton. It could be seen as a witch hunt too, unless there's some solid evidence to back it up.

My guess in my post was that not many people care about withholding judgment and avoiding witch hunts. Now you're saying that my guess was "quite wrong". In what way was it wrong?

Then Peterson himself is guilty. Wouldn't you agree?

I don't think so, do you have any examples of him promoting an ideology that promotes conflict between people?

And what about my earlier guess, in what way was it "quite wrong"?

You don't see anything about his plan, as described in this thread, that's going to promote conflict between people?

Of course the plan causes conflict, it has already caused a lot. But in that way, basically anything can cause conflict in the right (or wrong) circumstances. What I meant are actual ideologies that encourage people to hate or resent others, and as far as I know, he doesn't promote anything like that.

So, about that "quite wrong" guess? :p

"We're going to start with a website in the next month and a half that will be designed to help students and parents identify post-modern content in courses so that they can avoid them," he told CTV's Your Morning in August.

"I'm hoping that over about a five-year period a concerted effort could be made to knock the enrolment down in postmodern neo-Marxist cult classes by 75 per cent across the West. So our plan initially is to cut off the supply to the people that are running the indoctrination cults."
"Women's studies, and all the ethnic studies and racial studies groups, man, those things have to go and the faster they go the better," he said. "It would have been better if they had never been part of the university to begin with as far as I can tell."

"Sociology, that's corrupt. Anthropology, that's corrupt. English literature, that's corrupt. Maybe the worse offenders are the faculties of education."

In an interview with As It Happens last year, Peterson said the "continual careless pushing of people by left wing radicals is dangerously waking up the right wing."

"So you can consider this a prophecy from me if you want. Inside the collective is a beast and the beast uses its fists. If you wake up the beast then violence emerges. I'm afraid that this continual pushing by radical left wingers is going to wake up the beast," he said.

No, I love my country and know that they would
destroy everything good in it if they had the chance.

It seems to me that he's claiming that the indoctrination in colleges will result in a dangerous conflict between left and right wing radicals. He's not saying that's a good thing, he's trying to prevent it from happening, and that's the literal opposite of an ideology that encourages conflict.

And I have a strange feeling that you're avoiding a question.

Except he's not preventing it so much as going on the (what he perceives to be a counter-) offensive. He's tired of playing defense, so he wants to attack. His language is quite clear to the unindoctrinated.

If you can't see the Right's years-long witch hunt against their favorite "witch," Hillary Rodham Clinton,
then I'm afraid that there's not much I can do to help you.

That seems like a stretch to me. In the quotes you posted, he said that the conflict that he believes to be coming soon is "dangerous". That doesn't sound like he wants it to happen.
I'm afraid you totally forgot what the question you're avoiding actually was. And also that I agreed it seems like a witch hunt too.

Except that what he's saying is that the liberal indoctrination is already in force -- the "cults" are already in the classrooms and need to be rooted out. What exactly is he trying to prevent with his "nonviolent warfare"? (His words, remember -- and if you know a way to declare any kind of war without encouraging conflict, I'm listening)

Don't be afraid -- just because I lost interest doesn't mean I'm avoiding. In any event, those in power have often used "witch hunts" to defend their power from would-be usurpers. Peterson's taken a novel twist by reversing it: calling a witch hunt against those he perceives as already in power -- I suppose the indoctrinated will see his motives as altruistic... how could they be otherwise?
