  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I definitely prefer using a computer. Paper and pencil's fun for really short projects, or for times when I can't use a computer, and it's a lot more transportable obviously, but the computer's obviously a lot faster, and I generally like my writing a lot more when it's typed. I'm not sure why, but for some reason it even ends up longer when typed up on the computer. Maybe just because it goes so fast, it's just a lot easier to write, so more gets written.

The computer is the only way that I write. Why waste time putting it down on paper and then typing the whole thing again?

editing purposes? when i write something and then transfer it to computer it goes through an editing process. that's how it works with me at least.

I think it depends on what im doing. I love writing on paper, and i like typing as well.
When im writing and outline or a journal, i rather handwrite it. But if i am in a lecture room and im taking notes, i prefer typing on my laptop becasue im faster at it.

So it depends.

yeah, that's what I do. :) Well, actually I have two storys I'm working on. One of them is on the computer and is like 50,000 words now :D. The other one I started like a week ago and is in a notebook. Having them in seperate mediums helps keep my thoughts seperate...but I don't know which one I like better :). The computer is clearly a lot easier to edit, but I think when I use the computer I tend to overedit. I also tend to think more about what I'm writing, where the notebook story I can really just go with the mood. Well, that's my thought anyways. :)

I type a lot faster on a computer than I can write. My ideas come into my head so quickly that I have to write them down as soon as possible before I can forget them. The only way I can do that fast enough is to use a computer. :)

Oh I do both interchangeably. Both have their merits, so strive for balance is what I think.

Usually, paper is for brainstorming (try doing a diagram on computer) and the computer is for writing text, since I'll often change a sentence dozens of times before I like it.

I used to always feel I needed a notebook of paper and a well sharpened pencil, but as my writing skills improved and I became more familiar with writing on the computer I realized it was much easier. Now I can't stand to write on paper, I type faster then I write so its easier to keep up with my thoughts on the computer. IT has also helped improve my spelling and grammar :)

Our computer is busted and will probably stay that way for a while so writing has been the way to go for me. I do find that when I type, I spend too much time editing anyways and get far less accomplished then when I just spread it out in ink. The imagination has time to develop.

I don't know, sometimes I write and I love writing stories and poems. Those are my strong points. I love writing them cuz you just take a notebook with you to the backyard or any other place to get inspired. But I prefer typing stuff for school so it looks neat and cuz it doesn'[t require inspiration that's just an obligation.:)
