  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hoping for dead police officers is not a good way to protest police brutality.

The majority of police officers are actually good men, the problem is not with the institution at large but rather the rest of them who either abuse their powers or do not have courage enough to take on any situation without gripping their pistol.

It's only because the two officers assassinated were good men that I am gravely disturbed by it. If come to find out they had been involved in deaths they should have been able to avoid, then I wouldn't be at all.

All police officers are paying the price for the one's who have no business being officers- an issue among others which are going ignored because of America's newfound false patriotism.
Instead of people waking up and seeing this harsh reality for what it truly is, they are laboring under the delusion that authorities are benevolent demigods and we're the protected flock. And that's not even what America is fundamentally about- read the 2nd Amendment.

Hoping for any dead soul will not help. But, the truth is police brutality is as old as Sumer. There has always been a war of security between serfs and lordship, and "police" have always been the hand of aristocracy and lordship - to keep them safe from the commoners. It is a one way protection: the laws of the land illustrate this quite blatantly. This is why there existed groups and bands of people who swore oaths, and exploited themselves for the well being and protection of the commoner - a champion of the people. So, that is the first big thing I don't think many people or cops actually get. The cops are here to maintain and restore order, but if the definition of order is not at the whim of the commoner, then categorically their jobs are not for the "people."

The Crips and Bloods began as a legitimate "neighborhood watch/protection" for the common people - since cops all but proved they were not for them during various civil rights incidents. They did not kidding their own people, and they did not kill or harm outsiders unless they posed a threat. And, the best part was it was most all legal. But, like any pure and good thing, someone/something worms it's way in, and pollutes the entire program.

Another side of the coin is that the "enforcers" themselves are actually not much higher than the commoners they are charged with scrutinizing. And, when cops figure this out they begin to use their incredible power to subjugate people even more so that by comparison they are seen as above the commoner. This is also made evident by police salary and required activity.

So, we are at a singularity now: commoner (us) and "authority" are both realizing neither group had nearly as much power in status as they thought. Now, both groups are also fearful of the lordship/aristocracy - so instead of turning attention on the ones who, for example, decide what is orderly and right, the groups turn on each other. Many people don't realize this is the worst thing possible, but given both groups are hit with the epiphany that their life is expendable by the lordship, they choose to fight a comfortable but trivial fight instead of an arduous yet fulfilling fight.

Police should know better, but many use their authority as a platform to alleviate social stress. Much more than a minority of police do this - this is a fact of life. Civilians should know better, but the bit of comfort that comes with the illusions is irresistible.

So, we have two polar groups that both get their "power, comfort and authority" from the lordship - and neither wants to risk losing that by confronting the lordship. So, they focus on each other in a very primal "last man standing" social, political and economical melee.

Unfortunately for the cops, they have a double portion to lose. Commoners almost always come together en masse against oppressors. Cops are oppressors today; even if they get demoted or lose their job the commoner won't take them in as one of them (because of what they did/represented as cops.) And, cops know this, which is why the lordship entertains their qualms and allows them incredible latitude in laws (i.e. choking a man to death on camera = no indictment).

Cops think this is a good thing, but it is actually destructive all encompassing for cops. The more leeway in law they receive, the more they become separated from the people. And, if/when disorder ensues, people will move against cops first, as those are the active oppressors seen by the commoner. I am positive that all cops guilty of horrible abuse will no doubt receive their reward in the afterlife, but judging the trajectory of global consciousness, things may not be favorable for them in this life.

No matter how dumb the lordship, or "authorities" think the common people are, one thing is certain:the commoner always remembers their oppressors.

People should be absolutely terrified of what will come next. Over thousands of years, history has shown that what is going on leads to one event: total collapse of an empire. America has been lucky to survive so long with so many social, gender and political problems, but this "race war" conflagration is even more multicultural and scrutinized by many different countries.

The smart thing to do would be to at least indict blatant acts of abuse, manslaughter and brutality by cops. But, that is impossible. Certain results must be met.

Problem: Police brutality (commoners,) resistance to authority (cops.)

Reaction: Allow authorities to get away with blatantly dehumanizing the commoner; wait for a commoner to "take matters in his/her own hands. Race War.

(Pre-Forged) Solution: The lordship creates order out of the chaos - whether it be draconian laws, loss of rights, more oppression, or total collapse of a nation.

This is a human issue; the commoner and especially the authorities need to understand this, lest they do exactly what they are being manipulated to do.

I've formed my opinion based on experiences, not what the media tells me.

I sure you see the danger in this way of thinking. That means all you have to do is hear that a black was arrested for something, he/or them make a claim against the police, and in your mind they are "whining", and guilty.

Hear are a few examples of where you were dead wrong...

1) Susan Smith drowned her two kids, and said a black man did it.

2) Bonnie Sweeten ran away with her daughter to Disneyland. She told the police that a black man had carjacked her and forced them into the trunk.

3) Tsul Dadamo is the wife of an NYPD detective, and she claimed she was attacked by a Black man outside her home on Valentine’s Day

4) I think I'll let you read this one yourself, it's a doozy.

Nun Who Lied About Rape Angers Black Community

Turcotte, 26, told detectives the assailant choked her, dragged her through the streets and left her unconscious in a snowbank with her underwear down and her breasts exposed.
Cops even released a sketch of the phantom suspect and pleaded for the public to help catch him. After more questioning, Turcotte admitted she concocted the assault to cover up her sexual shenanigans with a bodega worker.

This country has a history of these types of crimes being blamed on black men. They bank on people like you to buy into their story. Look at the common theme in all of these examples. Black along with some type of violence are the action words.

Don't worry, it's the same for whites Look at the shock people got when they found out the DC sniper was two blacks. Even the media was pointing this out because this type of crime didn't fit the profile of a black.

As a complete side note, it is important to coalesce interpersonal connections despite discrepancies in faith, creed, politics and race. This upcoming hot war is meant to exhaust all perceived morality, psychologies and "religions" - even atheism. What is being forged now is an assault on humanity, not just "isms." A complete assault.

This is why I keep saying this is a human issue, not an "ism" issue. We all, as a human population need to wake the eff up, and see this world for what it is. I know many get this, but it is being clouded by personal subscriptions to "isms."

I'm posting blindly--as this is about the only post I've read (and I agree with this statement).

I had originally agreed with this video, below (until I caught the part about the NY mayor being blamed for creating an anti-cop climate). I had to look up why all the contempt against him, and the only thing I could find (that's being called "running his campaign on an anti-police platform") is his statement about his bi-racial child and how they've had to teach him to be especially careful--respectful-- when in the presence of police.

it wasn't that he had to teach him to be respectful and careful. It was that BECAUSE HE WAS BIRACIAL, the mayor is insinuating that he is more at risk of getting hurt.

EVERYONE should be teaching their children to respect police officers, EVEN if they think those same officers don't respect them.

True....all children need to respect police officers, but as a white mother that wasn't heavily on my mind as is it for other mothers (in other cities) with black sons.

Here is an article that I think express the thoughts well. We are NOT in a post-racial society...and there's still "work" to do in bridging the gap:

Dear White Mom: - BonBon Break

From journalist, Frank Somerville's FB page:

As you may know, my older daughter is white and my younger daughter is black.
(This is my younger daughter with my wife. My older daughter is a teenager and won’t let me post pictures of her.)

A woman named Cherron sent me this message after I posted about the police shooting:

"Frank ...your youngest daughter will have a completely different experience with the law than the rest of your family.
Just prepare her the best way you know how.
Don't teach her to be afraid but she does have to be cautious when dealing with the law.
The rules are different for us than for you."

It’s not the first time I’ve heard something like that.
And it breaks my heart to think that someday that really might be the case.

I honestly don’t know what I’m going to do if my younger daughter says to me:
“Daddy, was I treated differently because I’m black?”

How do I answer that?
Especially when I’ve never experienced anything like that in my life.

I imagine I’ll just have to be brutally honest.
And tell her that no matter what, we will always be there for her.
And that an attack on one of us is an attack on all of us, because we are ONE family.

I know this may sound corny, but at times like this I always think about Dr. Martin Luther King when he said:

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

It’s such a simple concept.
And it’s my dream too.

For me, it was telling my white boy that if he had to walk anywhere in our neighborhood to keep his head down, and his hands at his side. Don't make eye contact, because to most of the "thugs" on our street, that's a challenge. I pointed out the three houses on the length of our street where he could go knock on the door if he was frightened and couldn't get back to our house.

Small wonder the kid never went anywhere.

Now, some call me racist for teaching my kid this. Never mind that I never pointed out race in any conversation we had.

She calls for the firing of any officer who shoots an unarmed black man. That is irrationality at its finest, not to mention the sheer appeal to emotion in her blog. If her 6 year old kid grows up to respect cops and doesn't try to beat the crap out of them, he might live longer, no matter what color he is.

I'm unsure how you taught your son who the "thugs" were....(and I have to admit, I've not lived in a neighborhood where that was a concern)....but "thugs" have names......stories....thoughts (and, often.....value).

I just recently found out about this organization---and I think it's wonderful:

Yes.....it's an appeal for empathy (and I believe that's what's necessary).

I agree....that may be too extreme--to automatically fire any officer that shoots an unarmed person (no matter what color, really).....because sometimes hand movements can appear to be reaching for a gun (and it needs to be a quick decision to react).

It's not as simple as, "respect cops and don't try to resist arrest and you will live longer". I wish it were. I believe it may be a rare danger---but it's like playing Russian roulette.

She paints Michael Brown as a little kid gunned down by the police. That's a bit more than an appeal for empathy.

Unarmed doesn't mean not dangerous, either.

Police do overreact, to be sure. But I have yet to see an incidence where a person was just standing around doing absolutely nothing. There was SOMETHING that warranted an action from the cops and the cops overreacted in some of them. It's kinda like how we tell people not to walk on train tracks. When they walk on them, they MIGHT get lucky and not get run over by a train. But when they walk on them and get hit by the train, we don't blame the train.

He was a young man (and I believe that's how he was portrayed in the article)---someone's son.

There's such thing as excessive force. Neither of us were there....so it's difficult to speak to the details. I've heard that one of the shots to the back of MB's head was indicative of his body being slouched over (most likely from the other shots). With him being unarmed.....that doesn't sound like an aggressive stance at all.

I think tying this tragedy into the recent cases against Michael Brown and Eric Garner are pathetic.

Years ago Kathryn Johnston was gunned down by corrupt Atlanta police officers. There were sentenced under federal charges. More recently here in Georgia we saw the cases in which a pastor, a white pastor, was gunned down by non-uniformed police officers at gas station in which was nothing more than an illegal police action as well as a young child severely harmed by a flash bang grenade by members of the same task force that killed the pastor.

No one took to the streets in protest. No one.

Michael Brown's case is a very iffy case in which the grand jury heard reliable testimony that Michael Brown physically assaulted the police officer, reached for his gun and the gun discharged resulting in injury to Michael Brown and Brown ran away, turned around and proceeded to charge said police officer. I'm sorry. No sympathy from me in the outcome in that case.

The Eric Garner case was a case of a man with numerous arrests, something like 19, and he was illegally selling merchandise outside an establishment that called the police on him and, yes I've seen the video, he did resist arrest. Yes, the cop who placed a hold on him quite apparently executed a State illegal hold but this does not translate into a nation wide issue of police malfeasance.

No, the issue that happened so many years earlier was the case of Esequiel Hernandez, a young American shot down by United States Marines on his own property in a failed drug war law enforcement process never mind a federally illegal process by having U.S. Marines enforce State laws.......yet no one protested.

After watching what happened to Cory Maye, Kathryn Johnston, Esequeil Hernandez and so many others without any reaction by the public and suddenly two thugs violating basic principles of not only the law but common sense become harbingers of reaction by the "do good" crowd in American society.

Too little. Too late. No one of any intelligence takes these protests seriously. When I read about what happened in Ruby Ridge and Tulia, Texas and no one apparently gave a damn that people want to hold "can't breathe" or "don't shoot" protests over two individuals clearly violating the law.........spare me.

As a libertarian who has complained about failed law enforcement practices in the war on drugs targeting minorities I find these recent protestations as nothing more than the failed society of the modern Twitter media. People who don't really pay attention. Don't vote appropriately. Don't really care beyond what they can pound out on their cell phones in 140 characters or less before they move on to inane thrills.

And now that anyone could justify the murder of police officers in the light of these events......AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

These officers were not gunned down in revenge. They were gunned down by worthless criminals. And nothing more.

Truly. If anyone reading this has to go google Tulia, Texas and that case while having the cases of Garner and Brown in their mind......you don't know. You just don't know. You don't get it. You are behind the times. Decades of a legal justice system against minorities compared to two high profile cases of two violent individuals. There is no compare.

No comparison.

Where has everyone been for the last few decades. Sleeping. Or engaging in Twitter for news.

Just damn.

What about the high incidence of black on white crime? I myself was mugged, robbed, beaten and kicked in the face by a young black man at 7 PM at night on a 6 lane road. He threatened to kill me if I didn't let go of my purse, so I did.

Not to excuse the liars, but there has to be a modicum of truth to the stereotype to make it so believable.

Yes, we have to worry about our sons and daughters getting killed, robbed or raped by violent thugs much more than blacks have to worry about getting killed by the police.

mkgal1,

I hear you very clearly. There is a clear distinction between raising a black man child in America, and raising a "normal" man child. The president of the United States still receives prejudiced qualifications at any expense, and is constantly disrespected as being called "Mr. Obama," instead of "Mr. PRESIDENT, or President Obama." It is the subtle passive aggressive prejudice that fester into a sore of what we have today. But, reserve your [dis]agreement; after all, I am a black/brown male (I forgot what my official label is,) so my opinion "comes from a place of racism, hate and ignorance." After all, it is 2015; racism does not exist [/sarcasm]

Some people who claim to be Christians judge others as if they authored the Book of Life, especially when an "authority" is part of the equation. Like with Trayvon Martin: he was a savage thuggish "lean" drinking pothead (something many vocals don't realize their own children are doing,) a day they justify his demise with his past behavior. Completely ignoring the night he died could have been his return to God.

I would hate to see these Christian Forum Christians dig into Paul if he were alive today, and his past was known. If they damn people for disagreements, they would surely execute Paul. Which means we have learned nothing as a people.

I consider those that die lucky and blessed; to live in a perpetual dung hole of a planet with the type of people that exist here is hellish alone (and for any replies/onlookers, I said this, not mkgal1. So, come for me.

I don't appreciate hearing stories of abuse at all, as I am an abuse survivor. But, this comment doesn't mean black people rob more, or commit more crime - statistics and anecdotes can be misleading.

Any person willing to commit crime has a problem within them that is deep. This should be where our love for God, and service kick in. It Isn't a racial issue; otherwise

Not to excuse the liars, but there has to be more than a personal modicum of truth to the stereotype to make it so believable. And, who/what has been perpetuating this stereotype since the beginning?

Yes, we have to worry about our sons and daughters getting killed, robbed or raped by violent thugs much more than blacks have to worry about getting killed by the police.

Absolutely not. For starters, black people are outnumbered by Latinos alone 3:2, and whites 7:1. Between prison and murders, there aren't even enough black people to go around to even entice the "fear" that has ballooned all of a sudden. There are plenty of people that never get caught in their crimes, or the official scrub is something less severe and socially damning. "Shoot a school full of children? Mentally unstable. 'Black on White/Black/Asian/Latino' crime? Savagery, beastly, grotesque racist Crack baby antics."

It has never been racially "equal" since the inception of the States, and all the way back to Sumer.

Oh please. I suppose you also believe Michelle's story of "racism" because she was asked for help in getting something off the top shelf. The things one finds racism in! If calling the president Mr. Obama is racist, what does calling the president "Dubya" mean?

Some people who claim to be Christians judge others as if they authored the Book of Life, especially when an "authority" is part of the equation. Like with Trayvon Martin: he was a savage thuggish "lean" drinking pothead (something many vocals don't realize their own children are doing,) a day they justify his demise with his past behavior. Completely ignoring the night he died could have been his return to God.

Yes, it's too bad he died before returning to God, but he died because he attacked an armed man, that is what justifies his demise. That gets conveniently overlooked.

You must truly live in misery, and I am sorry for you. I can see absolutely no indication that Paul would be executed today though, that's ridiculous.

I don't appreciate hearing stories of abuse at all, as I am an abuse survivor. But, this comment doesn't mean black people rob more, or commit more crime - statistics and anecdotes can be misleading.

Perhaps, but what I've seen makes it pretty clear that proportionately speaking, blacks commit higher percentages of violent crimes. How do you argue against that?

Not to excuse the liars, but there has to be more than a personal modicum of truth to the stereotype to make it so believable. And, who/what has been perpetuating this stereotype since the beginning?

I don't know, who? As Preacher's Wife said, I go by my personal experience.

I know a lot of very successful happy blacks who don't seem to fit into your scenario of absolute victimhood and racism. And blacks have to take some responsibility in being a smaller minority due to such high abortion rates and black on black murder. And many are in prison due to their violent crimes, so I would think that would feed the stereotype, not lessen it.

I said exactly what I meant. I don't even know what you are talking about, but I will search it and further express my opinion once I have the deets.

And, notice I said prejudice (pre-judging,) as opposed to racism. They are two separate entities.

I said "racism does not exist in 2015 sarcastically, because anyone who has been aware of criticism of Obama should know there are racist undertones to most of the insults (i.e. the "welfare president.)

The funny thing is I never voted for Obama, and I don't care for him. I do know that he is not even given the chance to be as evil as most people accuse him of being.

No, I insinuated that we don't know if he gave his life to God at those last minutes before his death. Many people judged him for his past actions, which is ridiculous if you are a Christian. They justify his past as a reason for him to have died. It is hypocrisy.

Even the thief next to Christ expressed his remorse and repentance at the last seconds, and Christ blessed him. As long as you have life you are redeemable; humans judge otherwise, and attach past with present. Oil and vinegar. The fact that Christian icons are calling a dead person names, and defaming the dead is a hypocritical gesture.

And, were you there that night? It was dark, and witness testimony even confirmed cries of help - yet the omniscient media claimed those cries were from Zimmerman. Dismissing even all of that, were you there that night? Were you a witness to the event?

So, please don't act like you know the details with such authority. You feed the demagogue machine when you do that.

Ce est la vie quand vous etes noir, which is why most people don't understand the dynamic of raising "ethnic" children in a "post-modern, racially equal world."

And, that wasn't depression talk; life beyond this existence must be categorically better than what it is here on earth trying to be hell (and doing a good job of it.) The fact is parents of "colored" children have to teach their children a different set of rules about society for survival, as opposed to just living. Clearly the stereotypes of black and brown people are so accepted that people can justify and freely defame a dead person for their assumed actions - as if they were there. Black people are still being hanged and killed for their race. It IS a serious issue that people who aren't familiar with want to paint as whining and complaining, or some other weak modifier of personality attributed to these ethnics.

You can't see how Paul would be executed today, but you agree Garner, Brown and Martin deserved what they got? Paul killed Christians. He would be hated alone on that fact. If he happened to be a bit tan, then the hatred and call for "justice" would be abundant beyond.

[Double post within posts...]

If Paul came on these forums and said the Sabbath should be worshiped, he would experience DDOS, HAX and pwnage beyond belief.

You say it is ridiculous because you have hindsight on who Paul was. Do you think Paul's stoners (rock throwers) had that hindsight? No, they beat him down because of his message just like the other disciples.

The truth is parents of visibly ethnic children have to raise their kids in a duality of worlds. That just is - evident by worldly implications. You don't have to agree with me at all - that is one of the points of why we have to raise our children with multifaceted psychology. To survive.
