More truths of the New Testament:
To Whom Was the Kingdom Given?
In Romans 3:1-2 Paul admits that the Jews were a favored people "chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God, which is an obvious reference to all the twelve tribes at Sinai. It is of these same people that he refers in the words "who are Israelites" in Romans 9: 3-5. These Jews, these Israelites, limited God's promises to a literal nation, as Anglo-Israelites has done, but the kingdom was taken from them for reasons we see from New Testament references as follows:

Rom. 2:24. The name of God was blasphemed by Gentiles because of Jewish inconsistency. Luke 16:1-12. The Jews had completely failed as God's stewards.

Matt. 21:33-44; Isa. 5:7. They did not bring forth the fruits of God's kingdom—judgment and righteousness.

Paul's agony over his unrepentant kinsmen is clearly seen in Romans 9:3, and in verse 8 he states explicitly: "They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed."

The Jew, which is one outwardly, is not a Jew. . . . But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly. Romans 2:28-29 That is, any believer who accepts the covenant promises is a spiritual Jew or Israelite and an inheritor through Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Jesus. The promise of heirship of the world was not for Abraham alone; but for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead.

In God's sight there is now; neither Jew nor Greek . . . : for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you be in Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galatians 3:26-29

Thus it is: that the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. Romans 9:30

The great apostle to the Gentiles gives the reason for the withdrawal of covenant privileges from the people of Israel, or the Jews, and their bestowal on the Gentiles:
It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing as you rejected it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, so now we turn to the Gentiles. Acts 13:36

For this reason another apostle spoke of the Gentiles who had entered into covenant relation with Christ in these terms:
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light: which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy (1 Peter 2:9, 10).

1 Corinthians 10:32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God. Jews, ethnic Christ rejecting Israelites. Gentiles, all the godless peoples of the world. The church of God, individual true Christian believers from every tribe, race, nation and language.

Clearly the kingdom promises were taken from the unbelieving Jewish nation —the people of God in Christ's day—and given to believing Gentiles and Jews—God's elect in every nation. To twice-born men, regardless of race, and to them alone, now belong: the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, . . . and the promises. Romans 9:30

The Dispensation theory is based on the same fallacy committed by the Jews, or Israel, of Christ's day. They limit God's covenant promises and blessings to be a literal nation, or nations, whereas they belong to every person in Christ Jesus.

The Messiah was "cut off" after the 69 weeks, which would have to be during the 70th week.
It is weeks of years. It is not given in days.

Jesus rode in Jerusalem, hailed as the messiah, King of israel, in John 12:12-13. Four days later he was crucified. Not 3 1/2 years later as you are claiming.

There has been a 2000 year gap between then and Jesus's return, which will be preceded by the 7 year 70th week.

And you still haven't acknowledged the segments of the 7 years in Revelation.

Wrong.
His Father announced Him as the Son of God, at His baptism.

Mat 3:9 and do not think to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.
Mat 3:10 And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
Mat 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Mat 3:12 His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."
Mat 3:13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him.
Mat 3:14 And John tried to prevent Him, saying, "I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?"
Mat 3:15 But Jesus answered and said to him, "Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness." Then he allowed Him.
Mat 3:16 When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.
Mat 3:17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

Act 10:36 The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ—He is Lord of all—
Act 10:37 that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached:
Act 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

The passage above reveals that the Gospel went out to "all Judea", and "Galilee" after His baptism.

Jesus was not baptized in Jerusalem.

The 70 weeks are determined on Daniel's people and Jerusalem. The prophecy is for when messiah comes to Jerusalem. Also in Zechariah 9:9

24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

fulfilled in John 12:12-14.

12 On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,

13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.

14 And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,

15 Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt.

That is not what the Bible says, below.

Dan 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Act 10:37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
Act 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Jesus was crucified, rejected by Jerusalem and the Jews as king. He was not anointed as king ruling in Jerusalem and has not returned to seal up the vision and prophecy. Jesus is not ruling in Jerusalem embraced them in Jerusalem until the day he returns... The Jews and Jerusalem must acknowledge Him as the one God sent to be their king.

Psalms 2:
1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

I have already shown that Ezekiel 39:21-29, Jesus Himself speaking in the text, refutes the claim you are making "So all Israel means every single born again Christian.".
Bible teaching is that every faithful person to God, who overcomes Satan, and who keeps the Commandments, is an Israelite of God. Jesus is the Tree and we are the branches grafted in by Faith.

The truth of ‘born again’ Christians being the only People of God is summed up in a single sentence: Christ called a people together made up of Jews and Gentiles which would be one, not according to the flesh, but in the Spirit, and they would be the people of God. John 17:20-23, Titus 2:11-15

Jesus Christ has made his followers into the whole People of God. The ministry of Jesus was to bring into existence a renewed people, in continuity with the Israel of old. Paul calls this new community ‘the Israel of God’. Galatians 6:16

Jesus symbolized his intention to do this by choosing the Twelve, Matthew 10:1-8, as representatives of the twelve tribes of Israel and as the foundation members of a renewed and mission minded community. Just as the Covenant on Sinai was the center of Old Testament religion, so Jesus made the new Covenant in his blood the center of the religion of the Christian People of God. The accounts of the New Covenant in the blood of Jesus, as expressed in his action and words with the cup of wine at the Last Supper, are parallel to those which tell of the making of the Sinai Covenant in Exodus 24:8

Christ instituted this new Covenant in his blood and He called a people together made up from people of every tribe, race, nation and language, Revelation 5:9-10, who would be one, not according to the flesh, but in the Spirit, and they are now the Christian people of God.

This expanded People of God are bonded together by the sacrifice of the life of Jesus and the gift of his Spirit dwelling in their hearts, re-creating, directing, activating and motivating them from within. Paul’s letter to Titus speaks clearly of the influence of the Holy Spirit given at the rite of baptism, the first sacrament of Christian initiation: From the goodness and loving kindness of God; our Saviour appeared and He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy, through rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. This Spirit he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Saviour, so that, having been justified by his grace, we would become heirs according to the hope of eternal life, Titus 3:5-7

The clearest expression of the identity of the People of God of the New Covenant is found in 1 Peter 2:9-10 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

Romans 9:24-25 We [Christians] are the recipients of God’s mercy, whom He has called from among the Jews and Gentiles, for as Hosea says: Those who were not My people, I will call My people…..sons of the Living God.

The Jews and Jerusalem must acknowledge Him as the one God sent to be their king.

Thousands of young Israelis are now rejecting Orthodox Judaism, and are coming to faith in Christ.

If you think the whole nation will come to faith and acknowledge Christ as Savior, you better read your Bible again.

Start with Romans 9:27.

Keras, how can you possibly say that these verses, Jesus Himself speaking, about the house of Israel is talking about Christians?

Ezekiel 39:23 And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.

24 According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I done unto them, and hid my face from them.

25 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name;

Hi keras,

The context of that part of the chapter, (Romans 2: 17 - 29) concerns the Jews. The Apostle Paul, by the Holy Spirit is saying that not all Jews who are circumcised are true Jews. It has to be the circumcision of the heart. Thus some Jews are true according to God`s criteria, and some are not. Nothing to do with us Gentiles.

Also it is quite clear in Galatians 6 : 16 that the Apostle Paul is speaking to two groups, -

1. as many as walk by this rule, peace and mercy upon them,
2. AND upon the Israel of God.

Marilyn.

They simply cannot be just the Jewish people, they are not as many as the sands of the sea or are they believers in Jesus, except for a very small minority.
You use an OT quote to attempt to disprove NT teachings. Not good!

Context, dear Marilyn. You get a fail for making a single verse mean something that contradicts the context.
Galatians 6:14-16 is all about Christians being the new creation of God's people....... All who take this principal for their guide; peace and mercy be upon them, the Israel of God. REBible

Hi Marilyn,

From Thayer's Greek Lexicon:

c. it joins to partitive words the general notion; so that it is equivalent to and in general, and in a word, in short: ὁ Πέτρος καί οἱ ἀπόστολοι, Acts 5:29; οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς (καί οἱ πρεσβύτεροι Rec.) καί τό συνέδριον ὅλον, Matthew 26:59; καί δικαιώμασι σαρκός, Hebrews 9:10 Rec. Tr brackets WHmarginal reading; καί ἐπί τόν Ἰσραήλ τοῦ Θεοῦ, Galatians 6:16, and often in Greek writings;

The "Israel of God" is the "in general, in a word, in short" summary expression encompassing the whole of the verse.

It is obvious from the text of Ezekiel 39:21-29 it is Jesus's own people who rejected him 2000 years ago to be their King. The whole concept of the Antichrist is that they for a while will think another is their king and he is anointed the King of Israel, instead of and against the rightful King of Israel - Jesus.

John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

You use an OT quote to attempt to disprove NT teachings. Not good!
You are misconstruing the New Testament passages to start with.

Bab2, you need to come to grips with Ezekiel 39:21-29 that the house of Israel is not the church..

Tell that to Peter on the Day of Pentecost, when he addressed the crowd as "all the house of Israel", and about 3,000 Israelites became a part of the New Covenant Church.

Tell that to Paul in Romans 11:1-5 when he labeled himself as an "Israelite", even after his conversion, and talked about the "remnant" that existed during his time.

Tell that to James who addressed his letter to "the twelve tribes".

Tell that to the author of the Book of Hebrews, who quoted the promise of the New Covenant to "Israel and Judah" in Jeremiah 31:31-34, when he quoted that Old Testament text word-for-word, in Hebrews 8:6-13.

Cut all of the scripture above out of your Bible and maybe you can make your claim work.

You tell it to Paul, Peter, and James, that you don't believe what Jesus is saying in Ezekiel 39:21-29.

You are misconstruing passages in the New Testament.

Ezekiel 39:21-29 proves that the Church is not Israel, and vice versa.

Either Paul, Peter, and James are misinterpreting Ezekiel 39:21-29, or you are.

What did Jesus say about the Old Testament on the road to Emaus?

Luk 24:25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:

Luk 24:26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
Luk 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

The books of "Moses and all the prophets"...

Christ said the Old Testament books written by Moses and "all" the prophets are about Him.

Does that include the prophet Ezekiel?

He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
Jesus' Jewish fellow citizens rejected Him, but the people of the House of Israel, scattered among the nations and referred to as Gentiles, did accept the Gospel. They are the Christian peoples today.
The whole concept of the Antichrist is that they for a while will think another is their king and he is anointed the King of Israel, instead of and against the rightful King of Israel - Jesus.
Your continued pushing for the Jews to accept a false Messiah, despite there not being any scripture for it, just shows your intransigence and inability to consider the truth of prophecy.
