Your claim was that media made Democrats think that 50% or more of the people that catch Covid will end up in hospital.
When are you going to support that claim?
I have. I've shown that the public was a fed a nonstop diet of fearmongering that caused people to severely overestimate the risk the virus posed to them.
It is correct that no-one was safe from Covid especially in the early days, it was a novel virus, people had no immunity to it.
This wasn't from the "early days". This was after countless people had been infected and survived. Those people were told they needed to be vaccinated. They were told that "natural immunity" was a "
dangerous theory". Of course, that was completely nonsensical and flew in the face of decades of science. And studies later confirmed that natural immunity was not, in fact, a "dangerous theory", but rather that the immunity generated from an infection, was "
at least as high, if not higher" than vaccination.
No idea. It doesn't seem that the media made that claim.
They did not. But they did incessantly overestimate the risk COVID posed to people.
So you have no alternative theory as to why over half of Democrats polled overestimated the risk of hospitalization? You don't think that being fed a constant diet of fearmongering is the reason people overestimated their risk? What could it be then?
Lot's of people died in USA due to Covid,
Lots of people all over the world died from COVID.
the country that was supposed to be one of the most prepared for a pandemic failed miserably because USA right wingers refused to combat the disease, instead they went off of some looney idealistic tirade.
This is utter nonsense. But I can see why you would think that, since it appears to me that you have a great deal of trust in what the media tells you.
Because rightwingers in USA got all political about it, and refused to fight the disease or the spread of it. Instead they chose to mock people that were doing safe practices during the pandemic.
Mock people wearing masks, mock people doing social distancing, mock Biden for not having large political rallies, mock mail in voting.
People wearing masks, social distancing, erecting plexiglass barriers and instituting one way aisles in stores were worthy of mocking and ridicule because they were just doing nonsensical things that were doing
nothing to help "fight the disease".
I was in NYC in February 2022 at the height of the insanity. You had to have a vaccine card to eat at a restaurant, you had to wear your mask to walk to your table, but once in the restaurant, you could sit for hours, unmasked, eating, drinking and carrying on, unless of course you had to use the restroom, in which case you had to don your mask again, because we all know that you're only susceptible to viral infection when you have to pee. This is the kind of sheer idiocy that was not only promoted but
mandated by our inept public health agencies and governments and amplified by the media. It's shocking to me that
anyone has
any trust in the media at this point.
And speaking of large rallies, no one seemed to have a problem with the BLM protests at the height of the pandemic. In fact, after months of telling people to avoid everyone like the plague, all of a sudden public health experts came out of the woodwork to
encourage people to gather in large protests. Because the virus obviously understood the social justice implications of not protesting.
Gather in the streets shoulder to shoulder with complete strangers. But don't you dare go to work or school. A horribly inconsistent message.
For months, health experts told Americans to stay home. Now, many are encouraging the public to join mass protests.
