As the campaigns are coming to the closing weeks, is Trump focusing on what he can do for Americans? On how he will lift them up? Clarifying any policies? NOPE.

In Latrobe, PA, Trump really lowered his standards and became more vulgar than ever.

Former President Trump highlighted the size of the late golf legend Arnold Palmer’s genitalia during a rally Saturday evening in Pennsylvania, a critical battleground state that will be decisive in determining which party wins the White House in a little more than two weeks.
The rally took place in Latrobe, Pa., the birthplace of Palmer, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest golfers of all time and who died in 2016 at the age of 87. Although it is common for political candidates to name-check hometown heroes during their travels, Trump’s focus on Palmer’s genitalia was peculiar.....
The campaign of Trump’s rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, mocked the former president’s comment.
“Trump’s Pennsylvania Closing Argument Is Literal Junk,” Harris’ campaign said in a statement. “In a Pennsylvania rally speech his campaign team billed as ‘the beginning of his closing argument in the final stretch,’ Donald Trump focused on the issue most important to voters in this election: a deceased golfer’s … anatomy.”

Just locker room talk, like 'grabbing them by" the privates in 2016?
Arnold Palmer's family is not impressed with Trump.

His daughter told The Sporting News in 2018 that the golf legend, a conservative who was friendly with Dwight D. Eisenhower, was so incensed by what he saw as Trump’s lack of civility that he made noises of disgust when Trump appeared on the television....
“My dad had no patience for people who demean other people in public,” she added. “He had no patience for people who are dishonest and cheat. My dad was disciplined. He wanted to be a good role model. He was appalled by Trump’s lack of civility and what he began to see as Trump’s lack of character.”

A couple days ago, Trump was on the Dan Bongino Show podcast, and was very vulgar.

Seems he felt Harvey Weinstein, who was convicted of multiple counts of rape and sexual assault, was screwed - using the most polite term I am confortable with. Donald Trump used a vulgar term.

Is Trump just that vulgar and uncouth, or is this from dementia?

He is cancelling events, looks haggard and tired. He dozed through the RNC. Just the other day, he was falling asleep at a campaign event.

Trump was attending a roundtable in the swing state of Michigan when he seemingly nodded off, with the former president closing his eyes as an Oakland County community member talked about the region’s educational issues....
Trump’s bout of drowsiness comes after he canceled multiple interviews this week, with Politico reporting an adviser told the show’s producers Trump was “exhausted and refusing [some] interviews but that could change.”

So is he exhausted and being more vulgar than usual, or is it dementia? What kind of closing argument is this?
This reminds me of how often I hear the term "clutching at pearls".

Which of his polices do you like the most?
Being pro-life, not for the biggest government, and not being woke. Romney and McCain's personality is also about working with both sides and not putting others down. Romney also supports cleaning up the environment. John McCain had a moderate environmental policy as well. Heck, put Romney on the ballot, and I'd vote for him.

Trump is getting dementia, and is most likely unfit to be president. He is way different mentally speaking compared to back in 2016. The Republicans have to put up a new candidate, one who is polite-mannered, and classy.
They can't. They passed all the deadlines to do so already. Remember, people are already voting.

Yeah, it is too late to go back. We should have figured this out a year ago, or at least a few months ago. Romney should have been elected during the primaries.

Yes, fainting dead away when Trump gets a bit to the wild side.
Maher and many others, including Gallego who is running for Senate in Arizona can't speak a sentence without the "f" word
I stopped watching newer movies because the newer movies all seem to include soft porn sex scenes between same sex couples.
Biden reportedly called Israeli Prime Minister an SOB in private.
Trash talk, locker room terms and outright blasphemy is the cultural norm.
OOOOoooooo but Trump but Trump Orange man bad (pearl clutching indeed)

And yet still better than Harris. Go figure.

Maher is not a politician.

It is no wonder the world laughs at Trump. He behaves like a vulgar clown. Or a duck as he did tonight.

Ahh, reminds me of Stuck in the Middle. Clowns to the right, jokers to the left. But yes, Maher is not a politician. The two party system needs to be retired. It had a long run.

The "celebrities" who appear at Kamalas rallies are vulgar clowns. I direct your attention to the remarks of the celebrity guest at the Detroit rally.
The entire culture is permeated with vulgar and if Trump makes it funny, then he is no worse than Maher.
Gallego uses the "f" word as if it is the only word he knows. He does use a few "the" and "you" intersprinkled wth his "f" word witticisms and wisdoms. Vocabulary Challenged, definitely.

It is the culture and to faint over Trump is "pearl clutching."

Funny or relevent or clown is in the eye of the beholder, or politely, merely an opinion.

I do not like Trump, but I do not like the woke stuff on TV. I have stopped watching modern TV shows because of the same reason, cos Doctor Who and Star Wars have been made gay. Talk about demonic right there. Yes, LGTV people have personal struggles, but those folks could at least keep that crap off the airwaves. Remember, devil is the prince of the air. Seems that statement is valid in 2024.

So glad my library has free DVDs, so I do not have to pay a single cent to woke TV studios, but also, free classic movies and Criterion collection.

Watching straight sex scenes is Boring. Use a fast forward.
The current action movie doesn't have a story line so it is chase, beat em up, shoot em up and hop into bed repeat in an endless action fruit loop.
Entertaining?
Rather watch the faucet drip. More artistry, plot and character development than the average new movie but just as repititious and boring

Meanwhile, I like Trump. I don't expect perfection from politicians. I expect policy and results.

Luckily, most of the shows and movies that I watch do not contain these scenes (most are PG-13, or if they are R, they are R for cussing). I like shows with wholesome plots, or ones that make one think. Mission Impossible is still good, no wokeness there, yet.

For me, I expect good policy, good results, and good mannerisms. None of the two provide that, but I know in 2028, I will be done with the Dems, and might go 3rd party. The liberal party has gone off the deep end.

My brother, I am sorry. But Mitt Romney would not have been amongst the top 3 choices by the GOP voters in the various 2024 primaries. He is not at all that popular in the Republican party and the Americans who vote in GOP primaries.

He was really big back in 2012, and got 61 million votes that year with 59% turnout, if Obama was not running, he could have gotten in. Who would be a better choice than Romney, but still has a moderate conservative ideology? John McCain got a lot of votes as well, but Obama won though. If we want to win against the Democrats, we as a country need a conservative who has a great personality as well as good policies. Personality could be a deciding factor in this election.

FYI: Romney was big in 2012 because Republicans did not want Barack Obama ...

Not because all Republicans liked Romney, but because they did not want Obama.

Interesting, but hey, I was not of voting age in 2012 (only age 13 back then). How come some moderates liked Romney as well? I have a coworker who is moderate, and she liked Romney as well, and she even had Romney 2012 merch.

If Romney can bridge the gap, could he have a better chance of defeating Kamala if he ran in 2024?

I am not talking about just 'f' bombs.

Trump was giving a campaign speech yet he talks about everything else, incoherently much of the time. There was no reason to talk about Arnold Palmer much less talk about him as he did. But imho, he has no class at all.

I am honestly not surprized he defended Harvey Weinstein. Or that he acted like a duck tonight. Or that he dozes off at events. Or that he looks exhausted or that he fails to answer questions at town halls.
His age is showing. He is not fit for the job mentally or morally.

Your view of Romney is much different than mine.
Many Republicans see Romney as a RINO (Republican In Name Only), and not as a true conservative Republican.

In 2024, if somehow Romney was the ONLY choice besides Harris?
Then yes, he might win.
RINO is a bit of an offensive term. We could say the same about Christians who support abortion and LGTV movements as being CINO, but I am not allowed to say that on the forum.

But yes, if Romney was the only choice besides Harris, as in Romney Vs. Harris, he will win. That is all that matters at this point. If we can defeat the LGTV movement, we must use every tool at our disposal. Even if not everyone likes Romney, he is a far better cry than Trump.

I very much disagree with you. Romney is not a far better cry than Trump.
And it's not just me. Most Republicans do not see Romney as a better choice than Trump.

So no, if Romney ran against Harris, there is no guarantee that he would win.
I said, he 'might' win. Just like Trump 'might' win against Harris.

You see, the real issue is that Romney could not, and cannot, beat Donald Trump in any competition involving Trump. Romney doesn't have that kind of support within the Repubican Party.

You non-partisans/Independents may like him. Some Republicans may like him. Even some Democrats do.
But in no way could Romney win in any competition against Donald Trump.
Just is what is is.
