Gallup: Trump job approval rating matches all-time high

It appears that Trump's handling of the coronavirus response is behind the approval rating bump. Sixty percent of voters overall said they approve of the job Trump is doing to address the epidemic, including 94 percent of Republicans, 60 percent of independents and 27 percent of Democrats.

The president's job approval rating has remained steady among Republicans (92 percent), but he's gained 8 points among independents (43 percent) and 6 points among Democrats (13 percent).

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

Kinda expected this.
Trump in 2020.

I am a little surprised by these poll numbers, but not a whole lot. Americans tend to rally behind their President during a crisis.
You may also ask whether there is some cherry-picking going on up there on the mountain.

I will bet that history shows that whoever is at the helm generally has rising numbers in a crisis - people feel, rightly or wrongly, that if someone is in charge, they will solve the problem.

Heck, I would bet that one of your goats would experience a bump in popularity if they were president.

New York, Washington State, Illinois and California which are currently the 4 major epicenters for CONVIR-19 are coincidentally Democratic strongholds - Trump's Republican base has not yet really experienced the brunt of this pandemic!

When their turn comes, it will be interesting as to how receptive they will be to Trump's "feel good/be happy" messaging when it bears little resemblance to the pandemic they're experiencing!

Your post is sensationalism and anti Trump mongering.

Obama good poll numbers: He’s the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Trump good numbers: Eh, right time, right place. Anybody could do that.

Hypocrites.

Some thought he could walk on water.

some thought a reality tv show host would make a good President.
tulc(guesses a lot of people were mistaken about a lot of things)
Not really. Many people just thought Trump was better than Hillary Clinton. Many also think hes better than Joe Biden. It doesn't matter what democrats think of Trump. It only matters who wins. The left or the right.

Not as many as thought Clinton would make a better President or he would have won the popular vote as well.

(snip) It doesn't matter what democrats think of Trump.
I'm pretty sure he thinks that as well, that's just another reason he's so bad at this job, once he was in office he was supposed to be President of all Americans, not just his tiny fraction of supporters. :sigh:

It only matters who wins. The left or the right.
So what happens when you guys lose in November?

Hillary got a couple big states and thats why she got that vote. Trump however won more states, more EC votes and he won. But if it makes you feel better you can imagine she actually won.

We haven't yet crossed that hypothetical bridge.

It's always interesting to see how much love some Republicans have for yardage over tax-paying American citizens.

...why would I do that? I tend to deal with what is rather then imagine something else. :)

Its not yardage. Its called the Untied States of America. Each state votes separately.

A majority of Americans -- 55% -- now say the federal government has done a poor job preventing the spread of coronavirus in the United States, up eight points in about a week, according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS as the nationwide death toll from the virus rose above 12,000.
Eighty percent feel the worst of the outbreak is yet to come, most (55%) feel President Donald Trump could be doing more to fight the outbreak, and 37% say they have grown more concerned about coronavirus in the last few days, far outpacing the 5% who say their fears have eased recently.
About 1 in 5 (22%) say they personally know someone who has been diagnosed with the virus, a figure that is double the share who said so in a Washington Post/ABC News poll conducted just two weeks ago.
Just under half (46%) say it is at least somewhat likely that they or someone in their family will contract the coronavirus, and there are deep disparities by socio-economic status and partisanship in Americans' level of confidence that they will be able to get treatment should they become ill with the virus.
