It is not all Russia as many believe but until the Ukrainian people say it's enough we should support them just like we supported Afghanistan when Russia attacked. Ultimately we need peace talks with concessions and promises to Russia so they don't feel threatened.

Sadly it was only a couple of years ago we had American companies in Russia trade around the globe was good but NATO couldn't leave well enough alone.

Do please draw the distinction between base and missile base, they are not the same thing. The bases/NATO presence in most of the former Warsaw countries are there now because they requested them after Putin's aggressions in the area and elsewhere. Before that NATO troop presence was quite minimal.

US and European leaders championed the "masked militants" and denounced the elected government for its crackdown, just as they now back the unelected government's use of force against rebels occupying police stations and town halls in cities such as Slavyansk and Donetsk.

Russia has increased its submarine presence in the Atlantic at a higher level than ever in recent years, the top U.S. officer overseeing operations in Europe said Wednesday, citing one of several examples contradicting conclusions that the military loyal to Russian President Vladimir Putin has been severely degraded by his war in Ukraine.

From Lugansk to Moscow 1000 km, from Donetsk to Moscow 1200 km. From Latvia to Moscow 800 km. From Finland to St. Petersburg 100 km. Kyiv is closer to Moscow than Donetsk, but the war is going on in Donetsk. This in no way explains the reasons for the war.

Russia is fighting in Ukraine because they were given to understand that it will be done with impunity. This is the main reason, and the rest is propaganda.

You might want to watch the Military Summary channel. It's run by a guy married to as Ukrainian woman whom I believe is from Belarus. You just might have your eyes opened. A few weeks/months of watching this channel will give you a far different perspective than you now have. He puts out two summaries a day.
