It is my opinion that the goal of the GOP and by extension Devos is to shift all public funding for education to the for-profit system. That will kill public education in our country.

Once that is accomplished, it'll will interesting to see if they follow-up by ending all government spending on education, ensuring only the wealthy/well connected are educated. OR, if they continue to allow tax dollars to be the cash cow for their cronies.

The last 4 years have been littered with this President making empty threats and accusations - the conventional wisdom is that he will be voted out of office and given that education is a state and local responsibility, the courts would take a dim view of Trump's attempts to exercise undue influence in those areas beyond his constitutional powers!

It appears that this President is actually in no hurry to reconvene Congress to provide the necessary funds required for safeguarding staff and students - given the current time-frame, there probably isn't enough time to make many of the required modifications before September!

Like the Pharaoh's treatment of the Hebrews in bondage, this President now expects America's educators to overcome the difficulties imposed by the Pandemic and reopen the nation's schools without the benefit of federal government support - "TO MAKE BRICKS WITHOUT STRAW!"
