um, he hasn't been approved yet.
i'm sort of on the fence with him. conservative but yet there are stories of him showing support for same sex marriage...anecdotal but still. we'll have to wait to see what comes out.

and the idea that roe v wade will be overturned is a bit of a pipe dream as its settled law based on several cases already. it would be terribly difficult overturn, especially given how the now active members of the court have ruled on those previous cases. adding one pro-life judge does not overturn these laws.

The most the court could do with Roe v. Wade is remand restrictions to the states.

The Roe decision left enough nebulous language for the Legislature to legally afford rights to an unborn human being.

and once again the faithful single issue voters rally to the tolling of the Republican bell! :sigh: That they've rung the "anti-abortion" bell for decades without any intention of actually getting rid of their best tool of "rallying the troops" to do what ever they're ordered to do never seems to occur to those same troops. :sorry:

While those on the Left continue to whine and complain, which is something that is hard to believe they won't get tired of over the next 4 to 8 years.

except its not just the roe decision anymore...there have been several cases since then that have reaffirmed it. this is why it will never be overturned. its settled law at this point and gorsuch i suspect will be asked to admit this during his confirmation hearing.

Roe V Wade should be vacated because it violates the 10th amendment. The states have authority regarding authority not part of the enumerated powers of the federal government, and no such authority was given.

...wouldn't that be what the Court decided a long time ago? and let it stand?

The "right to privacy" is not mentioned in the Constitution.
The right to privacy does not constitute a right to employ a third party to murder your baby.
Since abortion is not mentioned in Constitution it is a matter of state jurisdiction.

Dredd Scott.
3/5ths compromise.
Plessy V Ferguson.
The court gets it wrong from time to time, you know.
