Trump mocks Al Franken for resigning quickly amid sexual misconduct allegations

Trump Mocks Al Franken for Quick Resignation Over Claims of Sex Misconduct

“Boy, did he fold up like a wet rag, huh? Man. Man. He was gone so fast. I don’t want to mention Al Franken’s name, okay? So I won’t mention it. He was gone so fast. It was like, oh, he did something. ‘Oh, oh, oh, I resign. I quit, I quit.’ Wow. He was gone and he was replaced by somebody that nobody ever heard of. Her name is Tina Smith,” Trump told the Minnesota crowd to cheers.

Stay classy, Donald.

Wait! What about the Right's narrative that Democrats are never made by their peers to suffer the consequences of sexual misconduct allegations? Donald just spoiled it.

Trump obviously believes men should fight for their right to be sexual predators, and that any man who wisely owns up to his mistakes is less than a man.

Color me unsurprised.

After making these claims for 25 years the conservatives had shown no progress with getting liberals to self-police political figures, Hollywood liberals, or media liberals.

They still don't get credit.

It was the #MeToo movement galvanized by the social justice warriors that the left couldn't disenfranchise because they were becoming too public.

So data about liberals is clear but sooner or later they had to run out of excuses.

So the narrative about liberals was correct, just your strawman version about "never," seems false.

But isn't it the nature of liberals that they stir things up to produce change? And their supporters are much more accepting of dalliances that run outside the societal norms.

The same is not true of the conservative supporters who can inveigh against a candidates smoking or drinking, let alone Bill (The Rapist) Clinton, who as a conservative wouldn't have made it to the Oval Office.

So, libs changed after a movement started within their ranks.

Why haven't conservatives changed yet?

There was photographic evidence of Al Franken touching a woman inappropriately while she was asleep. And it wasn't that long ago. So that's the difference. Here's why Al Franken had to step down:

And yet Trump still mocked him for not fighting harder. What does that say about Trump and his respect for the office, the institution, or women who've been victimized?

Then why is Trump saying what he's saying about former Senator Frankin?

You might want to look at that photo again or check your eyes. He's not actually touching the woman in that photo.

Plus she's wearing a plate carrier.

I think its sort of crass retro-humor (Franken was an old skool comedian). However, in today's political climate, I can see why he felt stepping down was the right thing to do. Because if he didn't, it would enable Republicans to get away with doing this "whataboutism" forever and hurt the overall Democrat party.

Franken got thrown under the bus for 3 reasons, 1 he was a dipstick, 2 the Dems thought they could use that appearance of having suddenly found morality to control the rhetoric against Trump and any other Republican (can you say Kavanaugh). And 3 they knew another Dem would be appointed to take his spot so they wouldn't lose that vote.

The humorous part to this was they considered Keith Ellison to take his spot. (Don't you just love false morality). ^_^

What does any of this have to do with the fact that Trump thinks he should have fought against the accusations?

Democrats do have morality, it's just not necessarily dictated by white evangelicals' concerns.

After today's vote I would have to say you were wrong. From now on all of our morality will be dictated by white evangelicals concerns, with the court to back them up.

They can pry my humanism and liberalism from my cold, dead hands.
