if the GOP Reality Show Host is impeached and removed from office; VP, Republican Mike Pence becomes President. That's nothing like a coup.
and he could remain president for up to nine years and not the standard eight.

Well, Pence is the one who stands to gain the most from impeaching Trump, then.

But the dems would not want that.

Guilty until proven innocent?
I’m not a juror in a court of law, and I was working off of a hypothetical situation. Should we have an actual criminal president, Democrat or Republican, I’d prefer Mike Pence.

At a private breakfast this morning Trump implied the whistleblower is a spy and then suggested what we used to do with spies....

Trump:
“I want to know who’s the person, who’s the person who gave the whistleblower the information? Because that’s close to a spy,” he continued. “You know what we used to do in the old days when we were smart? Right? The spies and treason, we used to handle it a little differently than we do now.”
Prediction: in this thread we'll see a lot of people pretending this isn't a threat of murder.

It does seem to be threatening action. But it is not towards the whistleblower. He seems to be targeting the person who was actually there and passed information to the whistleblower.

I WISH TO BE TECHNICALLY CORRECT WHICH IS THE BEST KIND OF CORRECT:

Trump seems to be saying this about the person who talked to the whistleblower (since we know the whistleblower did not have direct knowledge of some of these matters), not the whistleblower.

(In other reporting, there's all sorts of angry/frightened finger-pointing inside the White House about who told what to whom.)

Nope, person acting in good faith.

"I think the whistle-blower did the right thing," Maguire testified. "I think he followed the law every step of the way."

What if Pence continued with the economic, gun, border, and other policies of Trump?

Spying in good faith has been known to happen. It's only in good faith when one likes what they hear.

Loyalty to Donald far exceeds loyalty to country.

Did I miss the tanks in front of the Whitehouse?

LOL, day one they would be calling him a homophobe Trump bootlicker. Do you think they would stop at Trump? I don't.

I don't have to wait for any signal to call Pence that.

Do you think they would stop at Trump? I don't.

Being a homophobe Trump bootlicker is not an impeachable offense. Just a huge character flaw.

Nope, not even for a second. They would continue with their hatred simply because Pence is part of the Trump administration.

He would be continuing with them as a rational adult with a claim to moral character, not a willful, amoral narcissist.

No, he would be head of the Pence administration and would have to earn hatred by his own efforts.
