Then he should have sent someone from the government to investigate, not his personal attorney, Giuliani. He really screwed up doing that. It's so obvious this was for political reasons not for national security reasons.
If Joe Biden financially benefited, as Trump as said he did, while he was assigned as a delegate to the Ukraine that should be easy enough to prove without going to the Ukraine or China. Tax returns, bank records, property documents, etc.
Guess what we already have his tax returns for those years, you and I can even look at them. If there was any truth to what Trump says you can bet there are media outlets that would have already found it.

It’s not up to Ukraine to investigate American crime. If Biden has possibly broken US law, it is the DOJ that should initiate an inquiry. The President was trying to get a political favor using American tax dollars.

Seeking cooperation from other nations to eek out corruption in government is a great political favor to request...if it can actually be characterized as such. It's better then American tax dollars being spent on house democrats that do nothing for the country except criticize and interfere with everything the POTUS wants to do for his nations people.

Except the video doesn't prove anything -- the fact that Biden went to the Ukraine and told them to get a loan from the US they needed to crack down on corruption, and specifically that firing the prosecutor as part of that, is not in question. What Trump is trying to do is make it appear that Biden was the one corrupt, not the prosecutor -- but the facts are not with Trump.

Instead, we have people from the Obama administration, such as a former CIA director who served at the time, who back up that Biden was sent by the US government -- that in fact the prosecutor had quit investigating the company Biden's son worked for. The action was taken, per this director, with the approval of the DoD, the CIA, and the State Department, as well as our European allies. And, the net result would be that Biden's son would be investigated.

Which is the other point -- if Trump had wanted to investigate this, the investigation should have been in the US -- that is where the relevant officials are who were serving in the Obama administration are, that is where the various government documents are that approved blocking the loan until the Ukraine moved on corruption, etc. Again, the Ukraine can't add much since what Biden did in the Ukraine is not in question -- the only question is why, becuase he was representing the US or on his own to stop the investigation of his son.

Non sequitor and off topic. And their is no real silence on this topic -- as Barr has stated Trump did not and has not talked to him about opening an investigation into the Bidens (meaning there is no current investigation).

No, you misunderstand -- by "political reasons" we are talking about corruption; that it is being done for Trump, not for the US, for ammo to help him take out a political opponent.

If Trump were serious about stopping corruption, then he would have called Barr and had Barr do an investigation. The fact that it is only Giuliani, Trump's personal lawyer, working with the Ukraine means that this is being done for Trump, not the US. Again, there is no US investigation, Barr was never informed.

Except we already have a treaty with the Ukraine to handle criminal investigations -- it never required Trump. Oddly, the treaty calls for Barr to be the one to call the Ukraine -- to talk to his counterpart there, the Minister of Justice.

Again, this is for Trump -- which is why it is being handled by his lawyer without anyone in the government being brought in -- not to actually stop corruption or to bring anyone to justice -- or else Barr would have been told to start an investigation.

Let’s say your boss is late with your paycheck. It’s just a short time but you have rent to pay, a family to feed and you’re really desperate to have that cash in your account ASAP. Attempting to make this about me isn't going to change the facts to make Donald look any less guilty.

What would help that is actually addressing the claims raised in the whistle-blower report. For some reason, I don't see any GOP / RT spin attempting to do this. Weird some people would find such tactics persuasive.

I mean, if I found myself constantly having to try and distract from the facts to continue to support my guy, I'd start to question why I was being manipulated that way. Too bad that response doesn't seem to be universal.
