(((Okay, substance post time.)))
Morpheel sat in the quiet space of the Meditation Chamber. It was so relaxing....Clearing all thoughts, and becoming closer to God.....All was at peace.....He sighed, opening his eyes. He reached for a small cup of freshly brewed tea. Tea brewing was one of his many talents, but he was also a monk, and guardian of the Shiro Sutra. Because of the Sutra, he was one of the six legendary priests of the world. He was Morpheel the Wise.
"Ahh.....A good meditation period heightens the senses, clears the mind, and brings you coser to God.....Freshly brewed tea gets the juices flowing, and warms the body....", Morpheel said.
"Master, Master!!!", a young girl said, bursting into the room. She was barefoot, and she wore the traditional white robes of a monk. Her black hair bounced as she ran....Her hair set her aside from the other monks, who had no hair. She was also the only female monk. Morpheel had found her as a baby, on the side of the road, crying.....Her dead mother beside her, having bleed to death.
"Ahh, my young apprentice. You seem to have skipped meditation period today......", Morpheel said ina calm, tender voice.
"I'm sorry, Master. I was doing chores. The other monks told me I needed to do them.....", the young girl said, staring at the ground. She was red in the face from panting heavily.
"While chores help create dicipline, meditation is sometimes more important, because God supplies his own discipline in our lives, Miranda....", Morpheel said.
"Yes, Master, I understand....", she said, bowing.
"What have I told you about bowing to me?", Morpheel asked.
"You said not to. You said that I should only bow to God.", Miranda responded, embarassed.
"Then don't. Even though you are my apprentice, you still have much to learn....But don't worry, I'll pray that God gives me the strength to teach you.....'Stubborn Girl'.", Morpheel laughed. He embraced Miranda in a hug, and she hugged back, smiling.
"Oh, no!! Master, we have to hurry! All these distractions made me forget what I needed to tell you!!", Miranda shouted.
"What is it?", Morpheel said, standing up.
"There were these strange warriors with cold, metallic armor.....The monks tried to attack, but they got shot down by their beam weapons.", Miranda said.
"They told me to come get you. They said the Shiro Sutra should be abe to kill them."
"Miranda, I've made a decision. Come with me.", Morpheel said. He grabbed Miranda's wrist, and dashed off down the hall to the small room. The room had always remained locked. Miranda knew, she had tried to open it once before. The other monks once told her the door required a password, and only Master Morpheel knew it.
They stood before the red door with golden lacing around it. "No Me Ke On Ka No Un De!!", Morpheel shouted. The doors swung open......
---------------------------------
"We can't fight them off for much longer!!", one of the monks said.
"These....Things. How can we beat them?", another monk shouted.
"I bet Miranda just left.....That useless girl probably abandoned us.", another monk said.
"Don't be so foolish. Pray to God that Morpheel and Miranda will be here soon....", another monk shouted, before being shot by a laser blast. He fell back, immediately dead.
"We must press on!!", another said. At the beginning of the battle, there were several monks, around fifty--now, only about twelve remained. The metallic soldiers they were fighting still had the same number. They had not managed to defeat one. And there were only ten.
One of the monks grabbed a nearby bo staff, and charged foolishy towards one of the metallic warriors. The laser pistol mounted on the soliders right hand gleamed green for a second, before brandishing a laser blade. The monk charged right into the blade. Eleven left.
-------------------------------------------
"Master......Why did you choose me?", Miranda's voice said.
"I did not choose you. I was praying to God about the decision before you burst in. That was good enough a sign for me.", Morpheel's voice responded.
"But....How can I do it....?", Miranda asked.
"When you are weak, God makes you strong. When your blind, He shines His light on you. Lean on Him, and he will carry you....", Morpheel's voice responded.
"Okay, I'm ready.", Miranda said.
"Good.", Morpheel replied. He started chanting in an ancient tounge.
----------------------------------------
"I've scouted the perimeter. The footsoldiers are the distraction for the other monks.....Good. Nows the time to head inside....", a man said. He was camoflauged in the thicket of the trees around the temple. He lowered his laser scanner bionaculars, and rubbed his chin. His chin was gruff with facial hair. "I need to shave...", he thought.
He removed a backpack from beneath his crotch, and stood from his squatting position. He placed the bionaculars in the bag. He removed a silent pistol from it's holster, before starting his climb down the tree.
He dashed quickly through the forest--He didn't want to be caught by the local wildlife. He quickly dashed out of the forest, coming to the rear steps behind the temple. He started the climb up the stairway, and entered the temple.
Inside, he was met with a church like chapel area, with several halls branching off into the living quarters for the monks. "He must be in here somewhere.....", the man thought to himself.
---------------------------------------
"The induction is complete. You are now a full-fledged priest....Be proud. You are now a proclaimed servant of God, and the first female priest.", Morpheel said. Miranda smiled. She looked in the mirror. The red chakra on her forehead was just like her masters. She now realized the likeness of her face to her Master's.
She was now wearing the traditional priests robes--They, too, were white, but underneath was a black undershirt, and black pants, in case she needed to remove her robes for battle.
"And now, for the final touch.....", Morpheel said.
He opened a small, black box on the table before them, and pulled out a scroll that was black from the box. "This is the Kuro Scripture. When my Master died, I was asked to hold onto it until we inducted the new priest....Or priestess, should I say. As the new Priest of the Holy Temple, I induct you as the 36th Holy Priest, and the 1st Holy Priestess!!", Morpheel said. He then unrolled the Kuro Scripture, and placed it on Miranda's shoulders.
"Now, we must go out into battle....", Morpheel said. The now Priestess Miranda and Priest Morpheel walked out of the temple doors into the hallway.
"Priest Morpheel....Bounty, 10,000 Units.....", a young man said, smoking a cigarette. "Someone wants your head pretty badly, O Holy Priest.", the man said.
His name was Gabe. And he was a bounty hunter.
(((If this isn't right, I'll edit, M'kay? Woo, I managed to introduce all three of my Act I characters, induct Miranda into Priesthood, and create the meeting for all my characters! Someone elses turn.))))
