NIV: "The LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground--trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil."

It appears that the tree that was meant for food was “pleasant to the sight/good for food” while the other is nondescript. Or could we infer it was unpleasant to the sight and non edible? Both were placed in the middle, so location wasn’t a deterrent or preferred real estate.
It makes me think of 2 things, firstly that Eve must have been bribed to eat it. Like on a dare ‘here eat this ugly distasteful fruit and it will stop you from being dumb, see’
and secondly that God used sight to direct.
