The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

calmius said:It is a sin because you're not living in accordance with your biology. You were born either a man or a woman.
Sarah H said:Mom is worried that having a sex change operation will keep me out of heaven
And I dont know how to convince her otherwise and to tell you the truth im not so sure anymore so what do yall think?
Sarah H said:and to tell you the truth im not so sure anymore
No it wasn't. It asked what we thought, and I gave what I saw in the bible which is the only way I know how to try and help. I did not judge.sunshinejennii said:which is the advice for ANY sin! you would be giving me that advice if i asked if you thourght it was a sin to keep 5p i found in the street! so why are we still discussing this the thread is to discuss how to convince sarahs mum.
Sarah H said:I am a male to femal as right now I am male but will soon begin transition to become female.
I know it is something hard to understand if you yourself are not TS and I apreciate everyone who is willing to learn opposed to just shut me out and label it a sin cause you dont like it.
calmius said:I think you should try to at least appear normal
Dressing in accordance with biology. If one is a male, then dress as a male so that other people know that you're a male, if you're female dress like a female.sunshinejennii said:Normal???? please define normal?
That is relevent to what?forgivensinner001 said:So, what about all the people born with birth defects?
umm...this post. It is quite possible for someone to be born with a male body and a female brain (or vise versa), just like it is possible for someone to be born with any other type of birth defect. All it takes is an accidental release of testosterone in early fetal development to change a female to a male.BBAS 64 said:That is relevent to what?![]()
Bill
I think most defects are relegated to "God's will" status unless they involve sexuality, then our preoccupation with sex comes into play and we condemn anyone who isn't what we consider normal. What about someone who is hermophroditic? I wonder what kind of advice they would be given? Maybe "You are an abomination and should kill yourself!!" or some such?wonder111 said:I agree with forgivensinner, some people are born with birth defects or twins that share the same body. Is that natural? I believe when we are made in God's image, it doesn't mean physically because God is spirit
Hormones can't truely change your gender; just look at David Reimer's story.twistedsketch said:There's also hormones to help that. Men can be affeminate (though not homosexual) and not run afoul of God.
You are wrong!!!!!!!! I have not seen one post here that advocates SIN! Not one of them, EVEN THE ONES I PERSONALLY DISAGREE WITH, have not promoted licensiouness! Who are you to come in and in one fell swoop judge everybody who has posted here? I am appalled! And as you can readily see, I know how to use punctuation to express indignation too!Cright said:Wow...
I find this thread disturbing. I've seen several instances where people say that this is a sin ... but then just advise to pray about it.. and not to worry that it's a sin because God will forgive you.
This is a horrible attitude toward any sin! You should not use forgiveness as a licence to sin! We should avoid sin at all cost ... our savior died on a cross for us... can we at least try to avoid sin when we know it's a sin???!!! That should be the LEAST that we do!
In responce to the thread starter here. Ask your pastor!!
God Bless,
