  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It really depends on what is meant by transgender, as it is loosely coined. One can argue all day, bit if it simply means homosexual, then one is sinning if they act upon it. It's just that simple. There's no need to put on the liberal hat, because God is very clear on it.
Physically:
If you have a womb, you are a woman.
If you do not, you are a man.

That is the literal idea, gender is not based on opinion.

Sweetie, are you saying we should adopt? I think this could work but your views need some work. Where are you getting your definitions? Gender is incredibly fluid, it isn't 1950 anymore. Can you get the quote where God specified that please? Also the scientific proof? Because it would really help your case.

It's ok tho, opposites attract :) :love2:

Males who transcend into womanly appearance never develop wombs, nor do they develop female reproductive organs.
Therefore, they are men.

Like I said, gender is not an opinion.
Eve was called woman, as she had these accessories. It's what made her different from her male counterpart.

Not what all the boys who hit on me say. I thought you would be more supportive of your love bunny... Who knows what time and medical miracles will provide us with :D

You still haven't posted your source. Post it now. Facts please.

Transgender refers to gender categories, it has nothing to do with sexual orientation. And no, God is not clear on the sexual orientation issue, as badly as you want to pretend it is. However, that subject is banned on these forums, so do not take this thread off topic by equating transgenderism with homosexuality.

Gender deformities do not really mean anything until you decide you are going to be something you clearly are not.

That is really all there is to it.
Your failure at understanding biology is duly noted.

Actually in regards to the womb thing. At the moment he is actually right. So far we are unable to do that but science is progressing slowly but surely :) There are breakthroughs for all the time. Unrelated btw from what I understand, they are working on a new type of SRS in tailand where they graft cells from your cheeks to form the walls of the ya know :p (not sure if we are allowed to say that word here) that will allow it to hold more moisture.

Heres hopin!

Placenta? :p

Personally don't like the idea of ever going under a knife. Can't we just use something nicer like some slick nano technology and stem cells?

Oh wait, thats not in the Bible. Neither are vaccinations. Guess we shouldn't use em then. :(

Therefore, why should we change a condition that some random person decides isn't in God's plan? Why should we base God's plan on the decisions of random people?

With few exceptions, I'm not talking about some random person arbitrarily deciding. I'm talking about an individual who recognizes their condition and who chooses to seek professional diagnosis and treatment for themselves.

The exceptions I have in mind involve parents whose children have severe deformities or doctors that recognize a life threatening condition that urgently needs treatment.

Other than that, I can't presently think of anyone else that should have a right to make such life altering decisions for another individual.

Jaws13,
You tell Jase what a Christian should believe in one sentence, and prior to that sentence you spend an entire paragraph belittling him and insulting him? Have you never read John's words in 1 John 1-2 about loving your brother?
Well 1 John also says those that don’t recognise sin don’t have the truth in them, Sum1sGruj is also posting as a Christian.

The issue is which views are correctly Christian.
The wiki will give the true definition as the world sees it, it wont necessarily give the truth as God has created it, for that one needs the Bible and the Holy Spirit.

Be careful, this is a trap, do not let the wholy wrong lgb stuff get in the way of what jennimatts is arguing. Someone may have gender dysphoria, get surgery and live as the opposite sex without ever having the desire to have sexual intercouse. Whilst the argument can take place about whether someone can actually really change sex, the Christian needs to be careful to be compassionate enough not to assume the motives are wrong. The arguments that come from LGB based thinking is only clouding the issue.

So, after the uterine transplant you will accept that I am a woman?

Christian-wise, no.
I hate to put it that way, but this is the philosophy and ethics section. I can't really bend what is technical along Bible standards. That said transplant is not part of your body, and is unnecessary at that. You cannot put that in the same category as lets say, a heart transplant, which is a life or death scenario. But moreover, it's alien to your body, which is of the Kingdom and not that of Eden. God makes everyone the way they are for a reason. It's up to us to decide if we follow or not.

This is the problem, some argue that the chromosomes make up the sex some argue that the physcial genitals do.

If their is a 'Y' somewhere in your chromosome, you are a male. Without the 'Y' you cannot have male assets.
Some people think that the extra 'X' somehow makes them female, but the truth is, they really think that 'X' gives them free reign to choose.
Think about it., if one has the reproductive organs of a given sex, then that is what concludes it. Not only does this fit with the Bible (as was covered), but it fits into nature as well. How do we conclude other species being male/female? It's all about the seed and the egg.

So in otherwords you just hatin to hate. Got it :D Sweetheart I may have think rethink our relationship if you are gonna hate me!

Btw I don't think many people realize how much this GID hurts, to be in the wrong body. Suicidal depression is extremely real whether you believe it because it's not in the bible. I prayed to god and found my answer.

Difficult to argue against that, its pretty convincing.

So in other words he has given the reason for his opinion, and indeed it seems to be reality, whether you hate him for it is really not his problem.

there are plenty of people who suffer from suicidal depression, or who could. I have a great friend who has only one partial arm, but he is amazing. Come on, God doesnt screw up when he makes people, none of us are perfect anyway and God just loves us, no need to be depressed because we dont quite match up to what we are told we should be.

Hate? Nah I told you i love him! Stop self projecting on me sir!

Why do you people always go back to assuming it was a screwup on god's part? You think he didn't make us how we are? This is a real thing GID. It isn't made up, it is here we are real. God made us how we are because it seems he would like for us to see the world from both sides or to test our strength to live on despite a world where we are mostly hated. Yes hate. For all the christians that get to live comfortably away from being hated on there are people like us who get murdered, raped, harassed daily. We live on despite the world's hate. Because God gives many of us the strength. I say many because not all of us are christian.

God bless sir.

Stop acting like you are so high and mighty. I see you on these threads being all matter-of-fact and speaking with some kind of authoritative tongue. And you simply cannot gauge someones knowledge on a matter by throwing around semantics. All it really does anyways is show that you are insecure.
Ironic, considering every post you make on this board, especially in the Origins theology forum, you attack anyone who disagrees with you and label them "not really a Christian", because you think you're smarter than the actual scientists on this board.

Perhaps you should remove that beam from your eye before criticizing others?

He hasnt said he hates you, you said he hates you. It is you who is projecting your views as his.

Do they? As you see I dont.
This is a real thing GID. It isn't made up, it is here we are real.
never said it wasn't real, and obviuosly I never said anyone wasnt real.
God made us how we are because it seems he would like for us to see the world from both sides or to test our strength to live on despite a world where we are mostly hated.
Well thats your feeling again, you cant attrribute that to people who dont feel any hate.
For all the christians that get to live comfortably away from being hated on there are people like us who get murdered, raped, harassed daily.
What about my friend who only has one partial arm? If he can live in the joy of the Lord whay cant others?
