  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I think i found your answer, don't know what it means exacterly but.............

'When you get a new Rosary, you should have it blessed (if a priest is available). The Popes have loved the Rosary very much. So they gave priests power to bless the Rosary, and when they do, each bead carries with it an Indulgence. This Indulgence is the remission of the temporal punishment we must suffer for our sins either on earth or in Purgatory. There are various kinds of Rosary blessings and each has a different kind of Indulgence. One blessing is called the Dominican, for the great Saint Dominic who received the Rosary from Mary. Another is called the Apostolic. This is the blessing of the Pope. Another is called the Crosier, which makes us think of the cross on the Rosary'

Can I ask WHERE you found this? I am sorry, but I am chuckling . . . :D

Is there a Book, Chapter and Verse to substantiate this?
Mostly the
"Indulgence is the remission of the temporal punishment "
and
"temporal punishment we must suffer for our sins either on earth or in Purgatory"
and
"Purgatory"
and
"There are various kinds of Rosary blessings and each has a different kind of Indulgence"

Just wondering ...

No there is not (If you mean the Bible)....that is why we have 25 pages of a thread with still no concrete answers to the questions that have been asked all along.

There is no biblical evidence. There is no instruction from God. These are all man made traditions. Until someone either (1) points them out in the Bible, or (2) says, yu're right there are none...then this thread will continue to run in the same circles that it has been for 25 pages now....with "explanations" but no hardcore evidence of God's direction through the Bible.

I do not want to come across as sounding bold in any way, but this is what the Protestan/ Baptistt faith is looking for...concrete biblical scripture that instructs us to act out these ritualistic performances.

Thank you so much! That's all I wanted to know! :)

LOL lambsglove . . is it because this is what you wanted to hear? I am sorry, but I personally would not want to rely on that explanation to understand what blessing a rosary is all about.

;)

Peace.

I was being facetious. I know that from both sides. The Holy Spirit lead me through the Bible one day and I found out for myself these things and so much more. I struggled for about three years with what man wanted me to believe and what God actually told me through His word. I praise God for His longsuffering, patience, mercy and grace with me.

Iollian , .. thank you for letting me know where you got it . .

Are you aware that this is not a "Catholic" site and there is nothing official at that site? Are you aware that they follow an ANTI-Pope? Are you aware that the Catholic Church does not endorse ANYTHING at that site?

You are reading what a group who has divorced themselves from the Catholic Church and have gone off in their own direction are claiming and teaching. . ..

Then, why are they happy to have a new pope?

It seems like an old site.
I thought Pope John Paul started in 1981?

I cannot go back to saying the rosary after knowing what the Bible says about having no gods before Him. Mary was a good servant and wonderful example of submission to God's will, but she was merely human and nothing to be worshiped or prayed to.

This cannot be denied. AGain, no one will give scripture- only explanations- so there is no reason to continue a debate that is going nowhere.

Jesus loves you...Jesus loves me...let's go live for Him and Him alone...as only He is worthy through His death for honor and glory...and no one else. He wants all of us...not 85%.

hmmmmm . . . . I am wondering if anyone is even reading what I post?

Please look at that site again and what I previously posted.

Did anyone read this:
Now . . I don't know about you all, but my history books say that Pope John Paul was still in office on October 24th, 1998 . . and had been in office for about 20 years by that time, and remained in office until a couple of weeks ago.

As I said in my previous post . . . They elected an ANTI-pope . .

Since what I am posting is not being read very carefully, and since you all seem to prefer the information found at such sites over what the Church official teaches, I am not sure how much more assistance I can be to you all in this thread.

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to talk with you all!

the avatar was actually copied from someone on this forum...feel free to copy it...My old one was of George W Bush but I got too much negative feedback...I also had a quote that Al Gore invented the internet as a joke and that never went too well, either. I was getting PM's about it even though I thought it was just funny. WHo cared if it was realy saidl or not... People are so funny that they would go to an extreme over an avatar as to e-mail you a private message.
