I was told by the first WOF Pastor whose church I attended that if ones current financial obligations were more than current income then to start out believing God and to give what I could.
I gave out of the little I had left over.
I noticed a big difference in how things started going after a time.
Things like a car repair, a sick child, flat tire, etc. stopped happening.
After a period of time I was able to give more, not near the 10% yet.
After a year or two I was able to tithe off of my gross income.
After another year or two I was able to tithe from net income.
I was well able to tell the difference in how far my money reached.
After almost 40 years of tithing I am like Abe fully persuaded that tithing brings financial benefits.
