We’ll keep on praying then, but when I get on a plane I trust that it will successfully fly because of the proven science and not those who may be praying the entire flight out of fear.
Hmm. What about the planes that break down, blow up, wings catch fire, landing gear doesn’t work? Can we say we need to pray because stuff breaks , pilots make mistakes? Science isn’t always accurate.
True, this specific sub had questionable design. There have been properly designed subs that have taken (usually researchers) down to extreme depths successfully. Traveling to space has also been successful for decades. No form of travel is without risk and if billionaires want to spend their pocket change on inherently risky adventures, I suppose that is their prerogative.
Commercial flights have a very high safety record. Trusting the science doesn’t mean there will never be failures. I’m sure every plane that has crashed had multiple people praying with no success.

But, I feel bad for the mom who heard her son who was apprehensive and pushed him to go. Correction allowed him to go instead of backing her son’s gut feeling? What do you think your gut feeling is? Conscience or Science? Conscience is associated with prayer and faith. I believe if they had prayed listened to their gut or intuition some of them, will still be alive. What say you?
The only one of the five that is known to have expressed doubts is the young man. It is unfortunate that he may have felt an obligation to please his father at the cost of his life. It is easy to say that intuition should have changed their minds but all five had their own reasons why they still opted to go.
