CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

These show literal translations from Hebrew and Greek sources of the verses some people mistakenly use to say "God hates teh gays," and indicate that your "literalist" interpretation has serious flaws. Please reconcile these for us in this thread.

I understand that you believe that homosexuality is a sin and all that. But I was psecifically asking you where you heard that gay people go into relaitonships because someone is manipulating them? I'm pretty sure that wasn't in the bible.
If he doesn't believe thats it wrong why does he have to prove it by doing that? How do we know your relationship isn't based on lust? Why don't you abstain from your wife? Its ridiculous.
People have said repeatedly why gay people want to into relationships in the thread and its for the same reason straight people do.
But agian, you choose to ignore that.
What is love to you? How do you define it? Wouldn't you sacrifice anything for your wife? Don't you want to see her happy? I assume that you do. I would want the same things for my own.

And what would this prove, exactly? I don't see any connection.
I have never had sex, and at my age I don't expect to start. Does that make me a better "heterosexual"? Does it make me a better "homosexual"? Or does it just mean that my hormone levels are low?

Because they need the feeling of exerting power and control over someone else.
I'm sure a number of girls in ancient Israel would rather not have married their rapists, but that's what was best according to the Bible.

Well rape is about power and control. I have no idea why people like to have sex with animals. But both are wrong because they do not have the second party's consent. People usually want to have sex with the people they love. Straight people do, gay people do. But what is best? I don't understand that. If its between two people that love each other and are dedicated to echer other, then how is it not for the best?
You seem to be concentrating to much on the sex part. I've made numerous comments on love between two people of the same sex, which you have been ignoring. Does that mean you are unable to refute that claim?

Why are you all so keen on changing my opinion? That doesn't make anything correct or wrong. I accept what GOD says in HIS WORD as the standard. I do not make up my own to suit my lifestyle.

so all the ppl who believe in god believe the EXACT thing you do cause it is his unchanging and erfect word you follow... that means there are a lot of liars or confused ppl and you might be one of them. in short yes you do interpret the bible to suit you as everyone does - you are not a conduit for god you are a small mortal trying to put some divine power behind your outdated ideas.. grow up.
