These are sandstone formations on the Ennedi plateau in Chad. They are indeed many million years old.

Jesus says not to go by what the eyes can see, that the invisible is what is important.

The flesh, carnal, world, - the "seeable" of the physical world, is not to be trusted nor followed nor obeyed not should it ever take the place of trusting Jesus, no, not ever.

Every day we live our lives in the physical world. It's what gives us our food, powers our machines, it's where we meet other people and it's where you heard about Jesus and read the Bible.

This falls under evidence to be avoided as it is misleading, and leading to destruction.

It's evidence that's consistent with what is measurable and testable.

Aer this a support for the devil's work, (the devil has always been a liar and the father of lies.)

Yet it works, it creates systematic and repeatable methods for understanding the world around us.

If someone sees an axe-head float, they do not have to (and won't ) know the method nor the mechanism of how it happeded.
No conclusions wanted nor needed.
Just be honest! We saw the axe-head float!

If you saw an Axe head float that would be evidence that something unusual was happening... maybe you could study it? Maybe you could never understand it... but even if you did see it, it doesn't make any particular belief or conviction more true.

Realize that checking something against something else that is often changed/changing/or in error or not, is not a great method, is it ?

The point of the scientific method is that it is a system of testing to check if something works and can be updated when new information is discovered.

Faith and religious conviction may be correct... but how do you tell if your belief is real or you've misunderstood? How do you even know your belief is the right one when there are other beliefs held by Christians and non Christians with as much conviction as you?

Says who ? vs what The Creator Almighty God Says!

This is based on your religious beliefs, other Christians disagree... how can you say you are right an they are wrong?

That's the advantage a system of testing.

Not well understood by most scientists nor by the general public at all.
Those who are granted understanding see it all perfectly in harmony with all God's Word, Plan and Purpose - with no spot nor wrinkle, .... no error..... no sin.

Remember what we see today, for people today , is not understood by the natural man - it cannot be understood by the natural (flesh/carnal) man.

We can study the physical world, it helps us understand rivers and the oceans. This is practical and repeatable... so if someone says there was a flood that covered mountains we can describe what that means.

I accept that miracles can account for the discrepancy, but then you have a false narrative being placed instead of the evidence left by the flood.

God does indeed intervene in everything as He Pleased - He Makes All Things Work Together for Good to those who love God and are called according to His Purpose.

The general public, scientists, religious or government or educated humans without Jesus, are not given their eyes to open to see, to understand, nor can they comprehend anything from God, spiritual.

It seems like you are claiming some form of supernatural discernment... but how can you demonstrate that you are more correct than other Christians? Let alone convince a non believer like myself who has seen no reason to take your beliefs on faith?

But as I said before, the study of the natural world is effective, it gets results.

The geology found in Answers in Genesis is at a kindergarten level, if that. It works great for those who don't know geology or are looking for religious verification of their beliefs. But beyond that, Answers in Genesis doesn't get into the meat of anything geology related. Their mode is to skim across a subject and make claims not backed up by any real geological investigation. But if a person's is at a kindergarten level in how geology science works, how are they going to know the difference? Which leads me to believe that a lot of people are being led astray by Answers in Genesis.

One only need drive around the deserts of the American SW (or Canadian) and witness the layers upon layers, not of bedrock, but sediment which became sandstone etc, to marvel at how long each layer took to form at the bottom of seas and is visible now due to uplifting or erosion from first flood as land heaved and inland seas drain suddenly into greater oceans, and later from wind erosion, etc. I live on the northern plains on the escarpment where 2000 feet of sediment from the old original inland sea was scraped away down to bedrock by glaciers, while the rest of the sediment of that ancient inland ocean ( not the one from the melting glaciers) was left basically intact forming the escarpment. 2000 feet of sea bottom sediment on bedrock. An overnight event?

The point is why would God create such a thing in order to fool people when the idea is to have us come to Him, not avoid Him. The more likely explanation is not that God built a very detailed video game or virtual reality to pop in a machine, but maybe man isn't as smart as we think and it is man who has either misinterpreted language or purposely made up tales to suit their limited knowledge. Either way it does not change the fact God created our comprehensible universe and the past is irrelevant as it is the future and the Kingdom to come that should be our focus. In the meantime enjoy the beauty and quit trying to figure out God. We should spend more time focused on fixing ourselves.
