Society and the fact that we now understand that people do have differing sexual orientations.. Cultural norms, and (cultural) expectations and purposes for marriage have pretty much overridden marrying who one really wants for the vast majority of people for the vast majority of history.
Didn't have the word, but you can't tell me homosexuals were any different then then now, and they haven't proven differing sexual orientations yet. They do have alot of theroies, tho.
Cultures change but we are told God/Christ doesn't, I will go with that.
Excepting possibly in theology God doesn't inspire people to write outside of what they could understand, and their audience to get to grips with. God didn't inspire Paul to condemn slavery. God didn't inspire the writers of the Torah with a recipe for soap that would have made all that washing so much more effecive. God doesn't stomp on our humanity in that way.

They wrote (occasionally) about same-sex sex. They couldn't write about homosexuality because they had no knowledge of sexuality.

Oh yes they wrote about same-sex sex that is correct, and everytime they did they said it was a sin.
The problem isn't with their writing - it's with your dodgy translation that reads back a 20th century concept into a 1st century text.
So when the Jews translated it as it was passed down they didn't understand the languages they grew up with so they misinterpretated it?
It doesn't have anything to do with the 20th century trying to understand the 1 st. century, because it was translated the same from then to now, by people that grew up in all those centuries and understood the culture, concept, and language. Why to people think that the Bible wasn't translated until the 20th century? Studies show how Jewish scholars have pain stakenly copied and translated the scriptures pretty much from the 1st century to now. There is no sudden misunderstanding or misinterpretation, because it has been ..................nevermind stated above already.

Know I know that the Bible was translated and handed down from century to century, and by people that knew alot more about the culture, language, etc. then those who are trying to change it now.
I will have to go and find the papers I have seen that tell about how many copies of these writings have been found so far, that were written and copied again and again so as the pages got worn they could be replaced with new ones.
All this homosexual wasn't even a word until the 19th century, and the other statements you have made are all part of, nevermind.
There are many books out there about the scriptures and how they were past down from generation to generation. I think I will go with the Jewish scholars who have been given the jobs over the years to keep these writings alive and true, thanks.
