• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

This is ludicrous!

Why is it that everytime a thread about Wicca is put up it ends up in arguing back and forth...:( I have a headache from all this arguing and not to mention the number of the same kind of thread with arguing about Wicca(i think I counted 7). Obviosly there are alot of people here that are too full of themselves and think that they are above all, and "how dare anyone have a different view". You know, I was happy at first on finding this forum because I thought it would be great to share and connect with those of other faiths and try to see eye to eye, and to clear up these crazy idea about wicca, but all I see here is condemnation and bigotry. All I have been doing is arguing myself in circles trying to defend my beliefs from these crazy accusations. I don't think I will be coming here anymore, it is too angering to see people that are so ignorant and intolerant of the diversity that is the human race. I'll probably linger for a bit, but i will not be posting to any of these arguments, I am done arguing.

Hey~

Noooo Raven..you gotta stay & help the rest of us ;). Don't worry about it, honey-I think some certain people are trying to convince themselves that their narrow views are right more than they are trying to convince us, lol. It's just a couple morons who are trying to throw around their "I'm right & you're wrong" rhetoric-don't let them get you down. we know what we believe is true & real & right....it's not our responsibility if they are too blind or arrogant to see it. Besides, there are some good good Christian folks on here, too...& they are worth talking to.

Yeah, thats true. But I am not participating in these ridiculus arguments of "Christianity is the only way, and curse you, and hellfire, and blah blah blah" I will have nothing to do anymore with those conversations. If anyone wants to talk just to talk or SHARE beliefs NOT argue and put down, then I will gladly join in discussion. But then again, now that I realise it, all those christians before , like Lifesaver and a few others, I noticed they quit posting there condemnations and nonsense, so maybe its not pointless. I don't know, I just know I need a break from this chaos and these repetitive questions that I've answered at least three times and I still get asked them over and over again. I really dont like discussing something when the other person cant even get or rememebr what the darn argument was about in the first place...talk about nerve racking!! So for now I will linger...

The topics of the threads i started were not about debating they were about discussing (debating AND discussing forum) and it keeps getting turned into a war ground. i dont mind debating, if it actually went soemwhere instead of a circle. it is not debating that bothers me, i happen to like debates very much...its the bigotry and the self rightoues attitudes that turn me off from debates and discussions. I will not talk to any one that has no human respect and thinks they are all holy and condescending, I will however talk to those who are human and equal in there approach.

I already made my arguments, and you just keep asking the same questions i already amswered numerous times. Your attitude is very condescending and bigotrous and as i already stated i will not speak to anyone who is hateful and condescending...i dont like feeling hateful vibes, and condescending vibes, its not a nice feeling.

I am aware I am probably high on your list of reasons, and I'm sorry for that.

However, I would also like to point that debates usually happen only in threads made with the intent of debating (asking Christians a question, making a provocation, something dealing with Christianity, etc). Others, like the ones about "sharing experiences", and which are usually without references to Christianity, go generally peacefully, and I do (and seemingly others too) avoid posting in them, for I know how tiring it must be for you guys to come to a place where you are having to defend yourselves the whole time.

i said i do not belive the bible is the inerrent word of God becuase of contradictions and misinterpretations

Thats you attack on christianity, saying its full of Contradictions and Misinterpetations. You can say your not going to argue against it, but no matter what you say that is still an attack on it. Ignore the last post since I thought I stopped it from posting, this is what I meant to post. Now look, when you state something like that, dont expect the person you direct that at just to take it knowing it to be a lie, they will defend the intregridy of Christianity and prove these "contradictions" to be false.

She didn't attack Christianity. She didn't "attack" anything, she simply stated her opinion. Many people believe that the Bible was written by men & as such will have various contradictions & misinterperetations. It is often misinterpereted, as it has been changed & mistranslated many times over the years since its inception. It does contain contradictions when reading from a layperson's point of view & not applying one's own opinions to what it says. When it is read objectively, it appears contradictory. No one ever "attacked" Christianity by having a differing opinion about the supposed inerrancy of the Bible. Many Christians take the Bible for what it is-some truth, some metaphorical stories, & some political propaganda, but they try to live their lives by the example Christ gave. Bible worship doesn't equate Christianity.

Opinions can go against Christianity. If I said that Wicca was full of contradictions that would be an attack against it, dont try minipulating the situation to being "just an opinion", even opinions can be attacks against a religion my friend.
no, it would not be an attack...it would be your opinion
Giving an opinion is not the same as verbally attacking someones religion
