CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Now, now. We know that men of God have other focuses and ways to redirect such thoughts. I know I do.
Honestly, celibacy stinks, but not as much as the alternative and you learn to accept it as God's will. It doesn't mean we can't be human and don't enjoy being a bit flirty sometimes.

Our district has a couple of hispanic ministries going. Yes, it is hard to establish a congregation as it can be a transient community. It is a difficult ministry to do.
Whether they are illegal or not, the need for the Gospel is still there. Ok, our Pastor's here are fluent in Spanish who serve the Latin community. My daughter visited and learned about the work while home in January.
Ok, back to having fun.

Yesterday was Mission Sunday at our church and we had a local mission pastor come preach (Hispanic missions). He spoke with us at Bible Study and it was really interesting how he came to be a pastor and working here in Northwest Indiana (came from South Cal.).
Anyway, looks like we're in for another warm day!! I'm going to get my bike out again and ride on the trails. Vrooom....watch me zip by

Luther, where in Indiana are you? I was trying to move to South Bend for a while. Still want to go there, as a matter of fact. Problem is, that things have fallen apart for me. Oh, well. One day at a time...
I had considered moving to Ft. Wayne, to be close to the seminary. Too expensive though. It would have been nice to (if they would allow me) take a class or two. Even being able to look into the library would be a treat.

The forecast for here has been 50's but we can't seem to get up there. Too much snow on the ground yet I guess. Today it is sunny and dense fog. Kind of strange actually.upper 70s here
