I have a new nephew, he was born saturday, he born with trouble breathing. He got worse yesterday during the day and ended up in one of those oxygen bubbles, today they sent him to a different hospital where they can handle this type of thing. He could use prayers, his name is John David.

Prayers being lifted up as I type. Isaac went through something similar and he was at the best neonatal hospital in the area - if John David has been moved, then I bet HE'S at the top neonatal hospital. And he's in good hands.

:prayer:

Lord, we give thanks for the many blessings of this life that we take for granted. How easy for us to overlook these, until we experience difficulties. Today we lift up Melissa and John David to your gracious care. According to your great mercy bring complete healing, strength, and restoration to both. Guide the doctors, nurses, and other staff as they extend your healing. Give each patient and family members peace, patience, and strength for the days ahead. Through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen

My husband came home on Friday rather stressed. He will be losing his job soon. The doctor's office where he works will begin looking for a full-time person. Hunter changed careers (from optician to medical assistant) so that he could work normal part-time hours (rather than all over the place retail hours) and be able to send Gem off to school and pick her up afterwards.

His office had asked him to go to full-time last summer, and he could for the summer but went back to part-time in the fall. So we knew it might be coming. But still, he was feeling really stressed. This is a new career for him, and he only has about a year of experience so far. He was really nervous about trying to find a new job.

So I was sharing our concerns with one of the ladies in my Bible Study on Sunday, and she mentioned that the ophthalmologist's office where she works will be losing their part-time MA/office worker soon, and they are looking for a part-time worker. Hunter has a background in the optical field, and is specifically looking for part-time, so insurance and such isn't a problem. Our friend is the office manager, and she's very excited about the idea of Hunter working with them. After the holidays, he'll meet the doctor and see if it's a good match.

Talk about God's providence! Indeed, "He provides me richly and daily with all that I need to support this body and life..."

Even if this particular job falls through, Hunter now is more hopeful that there will be others out there. His newness in the field has been making him more nervous, but after talking with our friend, he's feeling more encouraged.

Praying for John David still...

Melissa is home from the hospital. She had an ovarian cyst burst. Having had several do that, I can understand the horrific pain she was in. Thank you all for your prayers!

Synger, I pray that all will go well for Hunter and this job will be an awesome fit!

Nasty fibro pain today. It kept waking me up all night. It hurts everywhere. We are supposed to have a freezing rain storm starting this afternoon....that's never good news for me. Hope hubby's flight isn't delayed for tomorrow.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to whine.

Gentle hugs, Seajoy! Hot bath girlie! Hot bath and a good book...maybe a nice cup of tea...

and hooray for the wee fella!

Gonna cross post this in the Prayer thread but...

Keith just got out of surgery. There was no blockage and the Docs were glad to report no sign of a heart attack!

What is causing the pain and abnormal EKG is a congenital defect in his heart in the form of a band that's around the descending aortic carotid artery that, when his heart constricts (systolic), cuts off blood flow to his heart.

He's going on beta blockers and baby aspirin to help with the problem. There is a chance that, should the beta blockers not work, he'll have to go in for heart surgery to have the band released. But if that happens, it's in the pretty far future. (according to Mom)

Thanks everyone for your prayers!!!

Sorry to hear about the pain, Ang.
Good news about your brother, Kae. :)
We were at 82 here today and it made for a nice day on the lake. Tomorrow, we're supposed to get snow in the mountains, just in time for our arrival at the cabin. If it gets too bad, I plan to sleep in for a few days. ;)
