  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Think I'll sit down here for a bit... (6)

We'll allow you to kick off the cassock, relax and enjoy a cold one. You've earned some time off after this past week. ;)

Amen and Amen!

A great big THANK YOU to all of our Pastors on here. Thank you for all the wonderful sermons and services during this past season of Lent. Thank you for preaching the Word faithfully and for showing our Lord's Resurrection promises every Sunday without fail.

Praying for you all!

Kae

Hi everybody! Took a friend to Easter services yesterday. She was facinated by the whole thing and really loved the Pastor's message. Poor fellow looked exhausted and delivered his message rather dispiritedly. The sermon itself was excellent. I took another friend along as well, but he wanted to attend the local happy-clappy with his brother. Pity that, he would have gotten a lot out of the Pastor's message (Jesus saying, "Go to this place, I will go ahead of you..."). I was kind of disturbed by the lack of... for lack of a better word, soleminity, during communion. It seemed just a bit disrespectful. People were chatting and laughing in line and would just pop and down then toss the cup (they were disposable). It just... bothered me. First time I'd taken communion in several years.

My congregation would have had a fit.

Wow...never seen that happen in church.
I'm glad you were able to take Communion though, Stude. Christ's Presence was there for you....try to remember that when you think of your time there. Satan would love for you to focus on the other stuff and forget the joy you had in going to the Lord's Table.
