I don't know why not. He wouldn't be condoning his religion, rather he'd be taking a conservative stand and getting the issue out in the public.

I'll tell ya, not being a WSJ reader, if I hadn't been on this board, I wouldn't have known anything about any of this. If someone can get the word out to the LCMS about what really is going on...shouldn't that be okay?

My concern is that by bringing this issue to a Mormon it will look like we have no problem with their views, or are giving approval to their false doctrines. Couldn't we at least bring it to a Catholic like Hannity or O'Reilly? Still not ideal, but at least we're in the Christian ballpark. This is an issue facing Christianity, it should be addressed by Christians, which Mormons are not.

I don't think the guy's religion is an issue. No one is taking it to him because he's a Mormon or Jew or whatever. It's because he's a popular national news personality. If Larry King were to get involved, the fact that he's Jewish would have no bearing whatsoever, but it would certainly be seen and heard by a large numnber of people. In fact, most every media outlet is radically liberal. Does that mean that we as conservative Confessional Lutherans shouldn't use any media outlets to get the message out?

I tossed Beck out there because he's notorious for picking up and carrying for the little guy. He gets things noticed.

I'm all for contacting Hanity and O'Riley. The more people who make a stink over it, the more other people will know and the better the chances of getting the show back on the air.

Hey, use whomever you want, I was just asking a question. It just seems odd to me that we would take a Christian problem to a person who is not a Christian and is not the only personality in media with a large following. But do you really expect the synod to change it's ways because of a little bad media? They've made it pretty clear that Issues, Etc. is gone and is not going to be coming back, no matter what fallout takes place.

I think Todd and Jeff could probably get the show back on the air, by doing the podcast themselves. Lots of people with less resources than Todd and Jeff have, have done it and done it quite successfully. It seems to me that the majority of their listeners were listening via mp3, iPod and internet anyway. Or perhaps they could make the move to satellite radio.

O'Reilly has severe credibility issues with me.

Yeah me too. I don't watch him. Now that I think about it, I don't really watch any of those political shows on tv. Stopped when I couldn't tell the difference between the two parties anymore.
