Just  & my hubby goodbye. He's left for a 6 day business trip. :sigh: I'll probably be here in the kitchen a lot over the next week. Hope you don't get sick of my cooking! :)

Your cooking rocks!

Are you bored yet??? It's a nice relaxing Sunday for me. Trying to get rid of my cough...at least I can take a full deep breath now though, so I'm doing fine!

You'll need a pond too, wish I had one
Ah yes..you cannot forget the pond. I suppose it would have to be artificially dug out and filled with water and fish. And a little Island with a bench and a birdhouse in the middle..

Well I couldn't make it to church this morning. Snow and an 80 mile round trip on back roads. So I'm Listening to KFUO on line. Lots of good services and bible classes this morning.

Eighty MILES!?

Yep---I live in the boonies way out in the country in a log cabin on 20 acres. Rife with wildlife and seclusion. Cut my own wood for my woodstove this winter. Livin' off th grid :)

There is a LCMS congregation a lot closer but I choose to go to my current church.

EIGHTY MILES????? Oh my, Rad, and I complain of my thirty mile commute to church (LOL)! ;)

I love the idea of the little island with a bird-house, in the middle of the pond. Cats would certainly be no concern, eh? Just make sure that a really good pond liner is used. Home Depot carries it or there's several catalogue pond supply companies around. Better to spend a little more on a liner than to deal with problems with cracked concrete or a leaking liner.;) That's one thing I really miss is my fish pond...

It's one of those rainy cold days here too. I'd go out and help George with his garden, if my back wasn't giving me ol' Harry today.:sigh: I think I'll have a wee cuppa, a few Tylinol, then go out and do it anyway...;)

Here's hoping you all have a great Sunday.

Howdy, all. I just returned (300 miles) from the weekend of preaching, etc.

And I am sore!

Yesterday morning there was rain starting coming down as I went from the parsonage to the church (across the street). Within 15 minutes I was going to go back to the parsonage. It looked identical in terms of everything being wet, but it was pure ice. I couldn't even get to the railing. I did a nice 1 1/2 somersault, hitting my shoulder, back, hips, lower leg and head as I went down 6 stairs of concrete! The good thing about my hips: it actually hit my cell phone in my belt holster, and popped it out and into the street. Probably saved my hip from an even worse injury.

Someone took me to the hospital - no broken bones, but I am getting a little black and blue. And driving back today for 4 1/2 hours, my shoulders and hips have stiffened up quite a bit.

As I was going down, around, over, under, I was thinking, "This is pretty idiotic!" ^_^ Well, you know, God watches over old people and fools and ... :D

 Filo!

Thank God nothing is broken, but I can only imagine how sore you are and are going to be tomorrow. :(

You preached today in all that pain? Wow, do I feel like a wimp! :|

I certainly hope they gave you plenty of happy pills. ;)

Well with me---God protects the stupid. I have to quit going out on the snow and ice to get wood in my flip-flops. Just laziness on my part. Don't feel like putting on my boots. I've done some "skating" around while juggling the logs and just thank God sometimes that I make it back in the house safe.

Hope you feel better filo. Prayers. :prayer:

So glad you weren't hurt to bad.

I've went out on the front porch before, its cement and dropped a piece of firewood on my big toe, I saw stars. Went out to catch the horses in my pj's, housecoat, camoflouge boots, toboggin, gloves and coat before, I looked a sight. I bet the neighbors got a good laugh

:crossrc: for relief of your pains.

Back at the end of December I was back home and I slipped and fell on the ice while holding my granddaughter. In order to keep her from hitting her head on the ice I stuck my elbow out to try and catch myself. The pain was quite severe and lasted for weeks. I may have ruptured the bursur sac. It just recently stopped hurting.

Wow Filo, that had to really hurt. I'm glad nothing was broke, but I'll bet the bruises are just as painful. I hate trying to walk on icy pavement. Its almost better to just get down on all 4s and do the low crawl, at least you don't have so far to fall then.. ^_^
