I can't believe how much houses have gone up in the past 9 yrs when we were looking and found this place. Hubby is wanting to retire in 2 yrs. I'd like to find something with a little less land and closer to town with not much work so maybe we can do some things but.......

I need to buy toes???

Quilt Angel, that is Tiger and my mom on page 9. Relay raised $97K. Wow! Thank you, I think he's a cutie too. Women always say cute. Men always say football. Right now, he likes baseball, but there's been a setback--he and the neighbor kid lost the ball in the jungle I call my flower garden & we haven't found it yet. Oh well, there's 2 more days of motorcycle watching. He had a playdate at the park this afternoon, best place in town to watch them go by. The kids got so excited everytime they saw one, it's amazing they had any energy left to play. Wonderful how much enthusiasm the little ones have over the simplest things.
Your kids aren't the only ones that get excited when motorcycles go by. Since I sold my "scoot" last year I miss it. I miss the activities with CMA people and the "Run for the Son" and all the fellowship times with my Christian friends. Unfortunately since my cycle accident and then the heart attack I'm a little leary of getting on one again and I have ridden them all my life. Oh well---time marches on :)

God might have opened up a situation for us. Regardless, this family needs some prayers.

The paralegal I work with, her mom is also a paralegal at a big defense firm. She works with another paralegal who has a daughter who just turned 13, and is 11 weeks pregnant...with twins...

The parents of this 13 year old are pushing her to want to give the kids up for adoption (though I think the parents can push it all the way because the age of consent with kids is 14 in Missouri - or so my limited research said).

The father is 14, and his parents are already urging him to sign off his parental rights. The papers have been drawn but I don't know if he has signed them or not.

Our names have been dropped. Thing is, they want an open adoption, and we aren't too keen on that. However, we said we are willing to talk and see what they mean by "open" and see if it's something reasonable to us. The parents are purposely wanting to do a private adoption to save costs to the adopting party.

Also, right now, I don't know if I'm pregnant or not. I'm late, but the tests keep saying negative. I've been told some people take longer to show a positive test than others. Also the tests are about a year old. Who knows.

Big thing here. Regardless of what God has in mind for us, PLEASE pray for this family. I can't imagine getting pregnant that young. I don't think I knew how the parts worked at that age. I'm sure that girl and her parents are scared senseless, as is the father and his parents.

I've always like motorcycles, but never ridden on one. My husband also likes motorcycles. We've talked (jokingly) of getting "his & her" bikes before. My mom would have a heart attack and die if she knew I rode on one. They scare her senseless.

I know what you mean. Here in Lewiston, nine years ago, one could have bought a nice house on acreage for about thirty-five thousand. Heck, one could have got a home in Weaverville for less. Now, a house of any kind in Weaverville can't be touched for less than half a mil. and that 35k house in Lewiston is between two and three hundred thousand. Oi-vay!

We'll do some praying. I had to go back twice to get a pregnancy test done with both of my kids

I think I'll sit down here at my computer for a bit. That is, if my mother doesn't kick me off it. She hates internet forums, so many times I have to post at school, or sneek it in when she isn't home. I'm tired. Both ankels are rolled, my back is killing me, and I have a huge letter to write that I can't quite get going. So, back to it.

Went up to founders day at the volunteer fire dept about 1/2 from the house, all this town has is a convenience store, a fire dept and a car wash. Won a door prize, a 5" black and white tv with radio. Ate some good food too.

Mmm food! LOL I'm a "fair food" lover myself. I can't wait for the county fair each year. This year I'm on Weight Watchers so I'm trying to come up with a plan that will let me enjoy but keep from packin on the pounds.

Went to a fireworks display in Hayfork about a forty mile drive away. The company that puts it on does this every year. They are one of the largest fireworks exposition companies on the west coast. Hence, they're always booked up on the fourth. So, they do this every year.

I really like going to Hayfork anyway. It's a really pleasant drive and the scenery is just super. Took a long walk around town and enjoyed the ambience. Then there was the mad sugar plum fairy's buffet (desserts only) to enjoy. Glad I took the walk.

Spectacular display! I wish someone had told me about this last year.

Just be happy that you had the pleasure in life to discover it before you passed on to the next life. Remember there are no regrets in heaven. ;)

Seajoy's son is married now. If they had a day like the one we had here yesterday, they had wonderful weather.

Hmm, wonder if there's any wedding cake and punch left over (peeks into fridge)--no calories in internet food;)

Now you tell me  I just figured out my new diet :p
