Hi-heigh! Just borrowing a friend's computer and checking in.

I find it interesting that a church with fifteen hundred to two thousand members would have trouble splitting. I suppose the synod has their reasons, but it disturbs me none the less. That poor pastor must be practically worked to death! :swoon:

Revrand, love the hat. Does this indicate that you're (clap-clap-clap-clap) deep in the heart of Texas?:p

Our Lord's blessings to all!

By the by, Happy Birthday to you, Flipper!

I've been working the night shift this week. When I woke up this afternoon, there was a beautiful vase of flowers on the dresser. We had supper at a family restaurant, best onion rings in town. Hubby had a piece of prime rib that could have fed 4 people and ate every bit! We still have 2 more holidays this week--Fathers Day and hubby's birthday. After supper, we did something really unromantic--went to Kmart for a new garden hose.

Thanks, guys! I was able to have an IUI (insemination) yesterday, so you know what I would like for a present.

I'll be realistic and just settle for a nice day with hubby - that much is guaranteed. His work's party is here tomorrow, and he's already got the house mostly ready for it so all I have to do is grill. He worked on it while I did my 4 hours lying flat on my back. I did get up later and help, but it really was sweet of him to do everything that he did do, and I told him that.

Also with being realistic: we're compiling a list of what we need to do for the dossier right now. Sent out stuff for our passport last week. It's more for my sister's wedding in November, but who knows. Both Vietnam and Columbia look interesting.

The pastor asked for prayers for it, expressing concerns that it was going to be in Illinois and we are in Missouri, then I never saw that anything happened. I'm sure there's more to it than I know. He is overworked, but he has a huge staff, and doesn't mind delegating. Problem is you might not agree with some of what's being delegated, like elders distributing communion along with the pastor in multiple lines.

It's such a young congregation, splitting off the youth into their own church will make a big difference, and they have the go-ahead to do that.

I'm not involved in the types of organizations in church that would get me all the gossip and further explanations for stuff, so I just go with what I hear in the services, and voters meetings. I'm sure there is more to it.

There are things about a huge church I like and I don't like. I actually look forward to when we can move to the country and go to a country church, because they also have their appeal.

I fell in love with the bunnies, hubby was shaking his head when I got home and got the box out of the car.

I go to a small church, it has its problems, there are no kind of womens groups to get in, no bible studies except for the one on Sunday morning during sunday school, no any kind of groups or commitees. If something comes up and you want to help or do something you have to ask. Here lately I've felt shut out, getting told no all the time when everyone should be working together since the pastor left.
