I believe the AR program allows for the student to trade 10 years of church involvement (Usher, Elder, Sunday School teacher, President of congregation etc.) for one year of academic training which means that they have 3 years left and of those 3 years, one is a vicarage.
Then that has changed since I looked into it. It was a requirement to have 10 years of professional church work - rostered teacher, DCE, DCO, licensed deacon, etc. I have no idea how being an usher for 10 years equates to Old Testament exegesis.

As for DELTO, I agree 100% with your analysis. I have heard of people in that program (Clyde Awtrey from WRM) and I wouldn't want to be in his church if he was pastor. I know from some of the Professors here that they are still tinkering with this program and there may be a major restructuring in the next couple of years.
I would hope they do some major "tinkering".
