No wheat gluten from China in that dog food??? yikes!

I thought most of the snow would have melted by now, but I guess it's not warming up enough yet. Right now it's just raining on top of the snow for us.

My poor niece. She was hoping to go to the park today! We're stuck inside watching tv and going over her books.
Tell me about it. Gem's 6th birthday is this Saturday, and we were hoping for good weather so the kids could play on the new playset and use sidewalk chalk and paints and bubbles.. and now they're forecasting rain.

Looks like we'll be going to Plan B -- coloring and Cooties -- and we'll need to spend more time cleaning up the rec room for the invasion.

Synger....how did your visit go the other day?
Very, very well. I had prayed that it would. Hunter really just needed to sit down with Pastor and talk over his concerns, as did I. One of the thing he said, that we hadn't really considered, was that we know more Lutheran doctrine than some of the life-long Lutherans in the church. We may not agree 100 percent on every jot and tittle (though the percentage keeps growing), but we by and large recognize what is correct Lutheran doctrine and what is not, and we accept the Scriptures behind it. We agree on the theology of the Cross, and on the Word and Sacrament, and the means of Grace. The rest will come in time.

So probably in the next month or so I'll be able to take "Permanent Visitor" off my icon. It's a much bigger deal to me than to Hunter, actually. He's from a strictly congregational polity background, where he has no problem joining a church or not, or being a permanent visitor. I'm from a background where you join not just this particular congregation, but this denomination -- history, doctrine, liturgy and all. He's looking for a home congregation. I'm looking for a whole community of faith. I've visited a lot of denominations, and participated heavily in their congregational life. But I've never before been convinced that I can no longer "be Presbyterian." So this is a really big deal for me.

Ok....I'm sitting here in our shop, out in the country...just me and my beagle. As I look out the window.....there is a major snow storm happening out there.
I'll probably get stranded out here...with the only edible thing I brought today, DOG FOOD! I forgot my lunch at home.:tutu:

Just call for a pizza deleivery. ;) It snowed hard here too, but now its turned to rain. I just hope not freezing rain cause my wife, daughter and grand kids are out running the roads tonight.

I was as well a little while ago, Lamb, from working out late and not eating much all day. Some Lean Cuisine fried rice hit the spot!

Have you been using your new exercise machine routinely or did you not get one after all?

Yep, we got the elliptical! I have used it for 6 days a week for the past 3 weeks now and really enjoy it. It's a tough workout so I started off SLOW with 15 minutes the first day. Now I do anywhere from 20-35 minutes, depending on how sore my legs are.

It's definitely working at firming up!

My problem now is stopping my sweet tooth ;)

Good for you. I would love to have one but can't justify the expenditure nor do I have the room for it.

I know what you mean about the sweet tooth, but I seem to have less sweet cravings the more I workout. Not that I let that stop me from eating sweets, mind you.

Hmm, I yanked my sweet tooth ;) out but the ones next to it just took over the craving so it didn't help much, except now I can't eat Milk Duds which are my favorite candy,
