With goats and sheep for lawnmowers you always have an option of putting them to ultimate use in the kitchen if they don't work out, but with horses not so much. Mini horses are pretty cute, though.
Just as I predicted, to herald the start of hurricane season, it started raining today at 4 pm. Happens every year on june 1 withouut fail.
Actually out here in the PSSRC we usually get June Gloom. Overcast and muggy. Thankfully, it's relatively cool, so the mugginess is tolerable. Today, it's patchy clouds and occasional downpours with the temps in the low fifties. It does amaze me how far a pine and fir tree can sway from side to side without breaking. The forrest is very active today.
When I lived in San Francisco, June was always very foggy and quite cool. I loved it. We usually didn't get anything approaching summer weather until October.
Ah.....the pine smells in Colorado in the early morning and the bubbling of the mountain streams with the melging snow. My--- I miss that. When we were in Montezuma CO in the summer we were free of bugs and snakes because of the altitude. .......Although you had to watch out for blue lips when you first got there. It was a quaint, secluded town with hardly any residents untill they built Keystone right down the road.
10,200 ft.Blue Lips? Oxygen starvation? What elevation is the place at?
We have our RV in the shop also. Summer is the best time of the year for repairs when all the ankle-biters and their parents are flooding the highways. May, last two weeks in August, September and part of October are the best time of the year for traveling. Othewise everything is too crowded.I'm ready to go camping, our camper is still in the shop, been there almost 2 weeks, we may have to call tomorrow and check to see if they've even looked at it. There's a couple of National Forests here in Alabama. We usually go camping in Bankhead National Forest

the top of grand mesa is 10,000-11,000 feet above sea level....i'm going to watch him very carefully and make sure he doesn't get blue lips.....

This ought to be quite interesting, since I live only 49 feet above sea level.
