Have you ever told the story of how you first met?

we just commented on each other's posts, just normal, everyday postings - until one day he posted "hello" on my profile....just like that famous line from "jerry mcguire" - he had me at hello.....

Thats a good thing!!! I went on 3 confirmation retreats when I was in my ELCA congregation, and something bad happened to me in 2 out of 3.

The first one while I was away my mom suffered a major heart attack and so driving back I got one of the other adults to drive because I had the urge to put the pedal to the metal to get back so I could get to the hospital.

Thanks be to God she survived that.

The second one I got lost in the woods and fell through the ice into 4 to 5 feet of freezing cold floodwaters. Although I have to say that trip was good in that my faith received a major boost. Basically after I pulled myself out I was clinging to a tree surrounded by freezing water. I had no idea how deep the water was and I can't swim. I had my cell phone but that had taken a dunk and went off and I had lost my flashlight and it was night time.

So I actually prayed that God would make my cell phone work so I could call for help. And I pulled my cell phone out a second time and it was back on. Had my cell phone not worked at the appropriate time, I'm not sure what I would have done. But I was considering taking off my clothes because they where so wet. And its my understanding that you are better off naked then in wet clothes in the cold. I say that to indicate what sort of trouble I was in.

The third one I was extra careful and it was relativly uneventful. I'm glad I went because I really wanted to slay that dragon.

DANG!!!! i think i would have been scared to death to go that 3rd time!!! but i'm glad you did, and glad it was uneventful!!!

leaving in 45 minutes to get my traveling daughter - she's been gone almost 36 hours!! went on an overnight field trip with her 4th grade class - i'm anticipating non-stop talking til about 7, and then her passing out cold til tomorrow morning!! she's gonna be full of news, and exhausted!!

i missed my bethy so much.....it just felt completely BIZARRE to not have her here, and on a school night to boot!!

first time I was ever away from my teenager, I was the one doing the traveling. I went to Chicago for the weekend for a printer convention. My folks made me do all kinds of stuff before I left like I was gonna die or something on this trip! My son was only 2.

it was weird, but I really enjoyed that weekend. I think I got a second wind for parenting while I was there. It was great to be back home, but I never felt weird traveling and I never felt weird when he went places overnight. Now he's gone half the summer usually and it's always good when he comes back, but we're also looking forward to our oldest toddler being able to spend time away at grandma and grandpa's house!

I'm dealing with one of the worst hay-fever seasons in years. Was up till five AM before the medication finally zonked me out. Slept till twoPM today. Don't dare go outside...

Why is it that when one is trapped in the house, the outside sings a siren song? Yet, when one can go out, it isn't so appealing? Human nature is perverse. One always wants what one can't have. Ah, but don't listen to me. This stuff always makes me morose and the Zyrtec gives me a headache.

My allergies have started in early too! Zyrtec and Benadryl both make me too sleepy and Claritin gives me an itchy rash on my chest so this year I'm trying out Allegra. It's not too bad. Not very strong though and I doubt it will work very well when the cottonweed stuff starts to fly around in a few weeks.

Oh, and I've always had straight hair and wanted curly! LOL
