LOL, this comment reminds me of the movie Enchanted when Giselle called the birdies and forrest animals to help her clean the Manhattan apartment. LOL, "Well... you're... different," she commented when they arrived. Instead of cute little birdies, squirrels, bunnies and butterflies, she got pidgeons, rats, and cockroaches. LMAO! Laughed myself sick all the way through that movie! Funniest movie I've seen in years!

i absolutely L-O-V-E that movie!!!! probably one of the funniest movies EVER!! i just adore the little chipmunk, when he's trying to show (whoever it is he's trying to show, i can't remember now) that that guy is trying to poison giselle, and he's holding up a chunk of ice that looks like an apple, holds it out, and says "it's good!" that's become a major catch-phrase at our house!!

i've caught a HORRENDOUS cold, and i feel like i've been run over by a mack truck. i HATE being sick. this is not allergies, this is most definitely an illness. took a nighttime cold pill last night and slept like the dead. needless to say, did NOT make it to church - not only am i not up to it, i don't want to infect anyone at church, especially seeing as how a majority of them are elderly. sigh......i sure could use a cup of hot tea with honey......guess i gotta drag my fanny into the kitchen and make it myself....

ok - pity party over with.....gonna take a daytime cold pill and hopefully feel better than something stuck to the bottom of someone's shoe....

Had a good weekend with the friends. Last night was rather stormy with many tornado sightings as well as touchdowns. Hubby tells me we had hail here at home. Where I was, we had lots of very strong wind and a nice thunderstorm. Suppose to have another round of it tonight. I love Spring, but I hate the nasty bad storms.

We're getting tornado warnings here to. Not supposed to be here till an hour from now. The bad storms that lasted all night Fri night keep the dog agitated.......and us awake. Need to get a seditive for Fido because I like my sleep.

we thought we were going to get some bad weather here but it moved kinda south so that Wisconsin, IL and parts of MI are now getting it. Iowa saw some huge tornadic activity yesterday, too. We had some doozy storms come through overnight. I love storms, though. Our dog just cowers in our bathroom for some reason.

Tomorrow I'm praying for good weather. My teen has his first golf match of the season and as a freshman playing Varsity, he's pretty stoked. He's already had two meets get canceled, though, because of course conditions, so we're really hoping that this one will stick. It's supposed to rain in the morning but dry up by afternoon.

Oh yes, Iowa had some good tornadic weather Friday night. The one that has been featured on the news is only about 15 miles from where one of my friends that I was with over the weekend lives. We were about 2 hours north, northeast. Where we were, we did take shelter for about an hour. It was rather eery out. It was actually much warmer during the stormy time than it had been all day on Friday. That makes one very uncomfortable about storms.

No storms tonight, what a relief.

I love storms.

Storms are good. It is the damaging winds, the hail and the tornadoes that are not. We are in the time of year where we have those and have them several nights in a row. I live in Iowa and those tornadoes that hit in the state Sat night were aiming for where I was and where I live. Makes for long nights.

Speaking of wind... On Wednesday Paula and I crossed Buckhorn pass finding this side very windy and only light winds on the Redding side we just left. When we arrived at my place, the phone was out. The phone company, forty years ago, attached the phone to a hundred foot tall Pine by way of a phone pole (Trinity County Utility Pole), on the way to the house. The wind had the tree moving around so much that it broke the wires in the line. The serviceman replaced the line with a new one containing a steel cable. He promised to see if he could get the company to re-route the phones over the utility poles to the back of the house. I won't hold my breath, but it would be nice.

Incidentally, the original yoke for the phone was so buried in the bark of the tree, he had to just cut the wire away from it. Upon investigating the connection, he found that there was a steel eye that the yoke was connected to. It appears that the tree had absorbed a two-inch eye along with a further three inches of the yoke over the years! I guess the pine was only around fifty feet or so back then...;)

I still love them. I love the sounds they make. Of course, I don't like to see people hurt or property damaged. But I still love being in a storm.

hmm---seems like the stormchasers once said that it's not the cold air you feel that generates the tornados but the air getting warmer.

All the storms bypassed. We are currently traveling through Indiana...2.5 hours till we get home and we are getting rain but it's mild.

Where where you in Indiana when you made this post??

I think we might have been traveling in the same area at about the same time. (But not the same direction)

At the time you made that post, my wife and I where in leaving Bedford, IN heading north.

I was around Indianapolis.

BTW - with all that rain we SERIOUSLY have to mow!

Oh ok, we didn't get up to Indy til about 3. We visited a winery on the way and stopped for lunch so it took a bit to get to Indy.

Where are you from anyways?

My wife and I where celibrating our 1st anniversary in Southern Indiana by taking a hike in the Hoosier National Forest.
