Meh, wife is sick and called in sick to work today.

What sucks is we are suppose to be going away for a couple days this weekend to enjoy ourselves taking hikes in the Hoosier National Forest and a few other things.

Unfortunutly the hotel was reserved before she got sick and there are no refunds.

And to make it worse we think that there is a good chance I could become sick too. So we could be spend our getaway for our 1st anniversary stuck in the hotel being sick.

And I'll bet you'll laugh about it together for the rest of your lives. ;)

Funny how we don't remember all the holidays, family reunions, etc. where everything went smoothly and without any glitches nearly as well as all the times the turkey was still raw inside, when the dog peed on the Christmas tree, when Uncle Bob showed up drunk, or when you spent your anniversary in the hotel watching movies and running to the bathroom every ten minutes. ^_^

I remember our honeymoon and everything went splendedly.

Yeah...I had and awesome honeymoon, too...most everything went splendidly. But my husband does remember that first night in the B&B when he had a horrific migraine and couldn't even make it to dinner. He just huddled in bed and slept it off. And that, ladies and gents, was the extent of my wedding night. :)

Well, I am headed out for the weekend too. My semiannual girls weekend. We have rented a cabin at our district's camp at the lake. We look forward to the time together as we have spread out and don't get to see each other very often. It could be rainy, but that is okay with us.

I'm going to miss my all-girl weekend in June this year. It's my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. I'm rather bummed about that.

It's starting to warm up here in Michigan, but we are getting rain along with it.

We'll be going to a funeral, my sister in law passed away tuesday evening from cancer, they couldn't make the arrangements yesterday cause the funeral home had 2 funerals to do. Should know more after this morning. She was a trooper for sure, fighting the cancer for 1 1/2 years.

...it's an absolutely glorious day here - deep blue sky, bright sunshine, slightly warm with a little nip in the air, no clouds.....(and yes, i'm sure there are birds chirping and bunnies and deer frolicking somewhere too....LOL.....apparently i live in a disney movie

LOL, this comment reminds me of the movie Enchanted when Giselle called the birdies and forrest animals to help her clean the Manhattan apartment. LOL, "Well... you're... different," she commented when they arrived. Instead of cute little birdies, squirrels, bunnies and butterflies, she got pidgeons, rats, and cockroaches. LMAO! Laughed myself sick all the way through that movie! Funniest movie I've seen in years!

:( Oh, Ctay, I'm so so sorry for your sadness. I simply don't understand why that kind of suffering is necessary.

My sympathies also, Ctay. The wait to see our loved ones sometimes seems without end. Yet... we do have an assurance and that's something to cling to.

Porter, someone once expressed a comment like the second half of yours once during Dr. Rosenbladt's Bible study class. Rod paused thoughtfully for a moment and then said, "Well, you're right. It's just terrible all the suffering in this world. All the same, the Lord permits it because to eliminate it he'd have to eliminate us. It is our fault, you know, not His." He was referring to the fact that all this is the result of one act of disobediance.

How long, oh Lord. How long do we wait? Come soon Lord Jesus...:crossrc:

Just got home, the Priest that did the service explained everything about the stuff they did, why the incense and explained the rosary service last night, etc etc. It was a wonderful service too. They did have communion.

Sounds like a good priest who knows his job; to present the Gospel to those desparately in need of it. Sounds weird, I know, but I can't think of a better time for a communion service than a funeral. The congregation is reminded of Christ's resurrection, the relationship of our oneness with Christ, and the promise of our own resurrection through Christ. Thus we're not saying Goodby forever, just for now.
