So for the ladies who have had kids...when you were pregnant did you still have wine during communion? I'm thinking since it's essentially a sip it will be okay.

i didn't go to church when i was pregnant with my kids, so that never ever came up for me....but honestly, that is such a teeny tiny sip, once every other week, that that isn't going to hurt anything in the slightest...

Yup, I still took communion. I also drank a regular glass of wine once or twice a week, manischewitz, of course. The health benefits of wine when moderated, even when one is pregnant, are really great.

Of course, the whole moderation part is where people tend to get it wrong.

I've got it! Maybe you've merged Stude and Jim47 into one, generic Lutheran man. :D

The brain does the strangest things to process what it's taken. Not unlike a hard disk defrag, which happens at lightning speed while we sleep. What we remember from our dreams is just the bits of file sorting that we can recall.

That's my theory and I'm sticking to it! ;)

Sounds like a good theory to me! LOL My brain (sieve) can make up the WILDEST nonsense. Last night, I dreamed that Qaddafi (HA! spell check as Qaddafi but NOT Obama! LOL) came and kidnapped me because he wanted my iPad. (I don't have one.) LOL

Have you tried a neti pot? I use one and my husbunny grumbles that it's not fair that *I* don't have allergies but HE does. LOL He doesn't want to use one though. I use the squeeze bottle instead of the actual pot. I find it easier.

Yes, I received the wine in communion when pregnant with my kids. Like PW, I even had some wine at other times.

Now, if you don't feel comfortable having the wine, talk with your Pastor about it and you could do whatever your Pastor provides for alcoholics, such as non-alcoholic wine or tincture.

We have communion every week - we are blessed :)

I am okay with it. I just wondered what everyone else has done (we don't have non-alcoholic wine ever served so they would have to make an exception for me). I am more worried about the "she's drinking and she's pregnant" (which I don't really feel a vibe from) than it would harm the baby (I'm sure Christ will protect the baby).

We are right now preparing for when the time comes (hopefully soon!). That was the last thing to check on the list. I'm off my acid reflux medication now because it causes birth defects. My doctor said to take Prevacid because it's a category B drug and I was on a category C so I will only take it as needed.

Wine is not a problem in moderation while preggers. My BIL (now deceased) was an OB-GYN and he also thought it held more benefit than harm for most women if only an occasional indulgence. Besides, the Body of Christ couldn't harm anyone, in or outside the womb. :)

Would it be wrong to unfriend my mother on Facebook so I can rant? Not that it would do much good as most of my hometown has access to my posts, so she'd know about it instantly, so yeah, not a good plan.

I am so hurt angry with her that I could spit! My hubby thinks I need to confront her, but I know it wouldn't change the way things are and it only make me feel worse. Seriously, I just want to scream!!!! :help:

We just got home from Wisconsin, where I have been for a week. Visited both kids. I did my Australia talk and one boy in 2nd grade gave me a card that said "you are awesome!"

Hubby hurt his foot while taking the dog out. He can barely walk.

Looks like the kitchen has been a busy place while I was gone.

When my Mom friended me on FB, I had to think long and hard about accepting it. But I did and I'm happy I did. I can be snarky on there and she's okay with it. To her face? Not so much. LOL Not that I'd be snarky TO her... LOL

Welcome Back, Seajoy! We missed you! Hope hubby heals soon!

LOL, Seajoy. My mother can be very detached at times and I think it's as much self defense as being truly detached and unsympathetic. Why simply loving your children and being there to offer support no matter what is so difficult for some people is a complete mystery to me, but there we are.

Did your hubby twist his foot or ankle? That can be so easy to do and hurt so much. Hopefully some rest and ice will help him feel better.

Kae, my mother would NOT understand my being critical of her on the intrawebs what her friends can access! It would be a betrayal of the ultimate. She has no problem dishing it out, though. Ugh!

FB has its good points, but I don't see what all the hype is. It's a good way to reconnect with people you once knew well, but I don't visit it too often.
